Not at all if he didn’t need the money. Seems to me that he played it about right. Made $2 million, and now he’s in New York playing with the top Taiwanese-American player, which probably galls his Chinese team no end.

I disagree with Lin’s lawyer sorta. I agree wholeheartedly that some dude in Cali who thinks he can make a buck should definetly not be allowed but I also don’t think LIn should either.

Whom ever was the first to print or say the term is who IMO should get the trademark ( I of course also believe if that person is going to use the trademark the right thing to do is to share with mr Lin in the profits. Though I do not think that person should be legally bound to do that)

Lin didn’t come up with this term. In fact had someone not said it he may have never even think it up ( and we would all be spared the Lin puns )

I have a couple of close friends who have lived and worked in China for years and this is actually pretty standard operating procedure with dealing with any kind of job there as an American. It’s expected excuses will be made and one won’t get paid completely what’s owed. Apparently it’s just kind of expected to have to negotiate after the fact to get paid and the government doesn’t care usually taking the native businesses side. I would find it very believable if practice times were changed or announced at last minute just to try shave money off the contract.
