Giannis Antetokounmpo with impressive steal, and-1 finish at FIBA World Cup (VIDEO)

Sep 2, 2014, 1:18 PM EDT

Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to impress for Greece in World Cup play, and this was just the latest demonstration of the unique set of skills he brings to the game.

Antetokounmpo comes from the low block to strip Renaldo Balkman, and once he gathers possession, he needs only one dribble to get from half court all the way to the rim, where he is able to convert the difficult and-1 finish.

Greece is undefeated through its first three games of pool play, while Antetokounmpo has averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in just under 19 minutes per contest.

I didn’t think Giannis would be this good, this soon. You want to talk about getting value for your draft pick, he’s your example.

So he’s playing 19 minutes and averages 9 and 4. Greece must have some ballers on the team because for someone so hyped up, he’s not getting much time. I’m impressed with his one and two dribble breaks and highlight blocks, but he should have and should be producing more.

He’s not an american baller who is going for stats, he does what his coach tells him cause that’s how he was taught, he plays within the system and people like you dont understand those big numbers don’t always translate in the NBA, what does is play making ability which he has.

people like me do understand playmaking and team play. when you’re labeled “the Greek Freak” and harped on as the next best thing, I expect to see more than the numbers he’s put up during his Greek and NBA career. Perhaps he should do more than what is asked of him. He doesn’t need to drop 20/10/5, but on that suck Bucks team last year and this cup team, he should have and should be producing more than and average bench player.

It’s the group stages, no one on a winning team is playing big minutes and Greece is 3-0.

Check your math, it’s more like 10 and 5 and it’s more than solid on international level.

By the way Irving got 11/3/4, Curry 8/3/4 and Rose 6/2/2. All of them in the same or even more minutes of play.

They aren’t going to wear him out like that. That’s not how these tournaments go. Now if somehow Greece makes an(unlikely) run you’ll see him getting more minutes.
