Quote of the Day: Matt Bonner on his big-spending habits

Aug 25, 2014, 6:22 PM EDT

Ricky Rubio, Matt Bonner Ricky Rubio, Matt Bonner

I’ll eat at any restaurant I want now. In the past, I would always wait until 10 o’clock so I could get the Domino’s late night deal. But now, if I want pizza, I’ll go to a gourmet pizza place at 4 o’clock if I feel like it. To me, that’s splurging.

    Kudos to you Mr. Bonner…

“The average professional athlete in the U.S. will make more in one season than most of us earn in our entire lives….[yet,] despite those staggering salaries, 78% of NFL players, 60% of NBA file bankruptcy within five years of retirement.”

Hold on to a lot of your money sir…

He looks like he’s been eating a lot of those 4 o’clock pizzas recently.

      And 5 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 7 o’clock pizzas too.

LeBron and D-Wade define splurging as leaving a tip.

This explains how Antoine Walker burned through 120 mil and could never get in shape; expensive pizzas at all hours of the day.

Wish more celebrities, musicians, athletes, and especially rappers preached more about frugality and responsible spending.

      Economic Darwinism.

You know what… I’m going to withhold what I was going to say, because I’m not going there tonight.

When he played for the Raptors, he took the subway to games to save money. That’s how he got his nickname — The Red Rocket.

The Spurs splurged and brought him back, not that I mind…GO SPURS GO
