Trailer for Showtime documentary “Kobe Bryant’s Muse” (VIDEO)

Aug 24, 2014, 9:30 AM EDT

This is the first trailer from “Kobe Bryant‘s Muse” the documentary coming from Showtime soon.

This clip shows and deals with the drive that has always been part of what made Kobe great — his determination, his drive, his work ethic outstrips most players (and most people) and that helps set him apart. He has a high IQ, he has insane natural ability, but that can only really tapped into with a lot of hours in the gym.

I’m curious if this Kobe-approved documentary is all about promoting the mythology of Kobe or if, like any good documentary of a person, shows different sides and different feelings about the man.

So this band has one minor hit in the states and now they get a documentary made about them? I know they have a decent following but do they deserve a documentary about them? Alongside Kobe Bryant? Why exactly? I didn’t realize people that were fans of British prog rock had such crossover appeal with the NBA

“his determination, his drive, his work ethic outstrips most people and that helps set him apart.”

Well you could say that about Ed Wood too. In the same vein, for 18 years Kobe has been going in the gym at 4am each morning, putting up thousands of shots – and when he finally emerges he’s still a 45% brick chucking ball hog.
