Watch Ian Mahinmi airball back-to-back free throws in exhibition game (VIDEO)

Aug 18, 2014, 9:30 PM EST

With all the changes in the Pacers’ rotation next year,Ian Mahinmi is likely going to have a larger role to play. Maybe the book on how to defend him is out — send him to the free throw line.

Mahinmi is playing for the reigning European champion French team at the World Cup this summer (a team that is not the same without Tony Parker playing) and in a tune-up game against the Philippines Mahinmi airballed back-to-back free throws. Even DeAndre Jordan thinks that’s sad.

Hat tip to The Big Lead and The Score.

He was nearly dunked in the face by Japeth Aguilar.

Mahinimi looks pretty bad here but he’s actually underrated.

Interesting piece of work, congrats. Where did you find/how did you get the data? Is there a place where you can make queries?

Also, about the top shot blockers & rim protection effectiveness: My feeling is you call it busted but only present a couple cases in Pau Gasol and Splitter. Duncan is not so bad at 30th, but what about players like A. Davis, Howard and Bogut?

I uploaded a file at the end of the post with all the qualifiers.

This data is available on NBA.com

        Cheers
