“Bosses chillin” on a plane: Paul Pierce, Al Pacino

Aug 17, 2014, 4:00 PM EDT

The caption: “Bosses chillin”

That would be Paul Pierce on the right and Tony Montana on the left, AKA Al Pacino.

Pacino recently did a one-man show in Las Vegas and this may have been taken on the way to or from that. Or not. If you’re Pierce you may jut randomly end up on a private jet with Pacino because that’s how you roll.

For the record that would be the Washington Wizards’ Paul Pierce. Still weird to type that sentence.

Al Pacino is the number one actor to play a gangster with de-niro being second and denzel being third

      Marlon Brando

    Don’t forget about Tony Soprano.
And then there’s Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci.

MGM Lion on the galley in the background. Clearly one of their private jets.

So THAT’S what the inside of a private jet looks like. (sigh…….)

  6. rawdog2013 - Aug 17, 2014 at 9:35 PM

    Movie – Marlon Brando (Godfather).
TV Show – Marlo stanfield (The Wire -don’t know his actual name). Omar gets honorable mention.
All around / most appearances – De Niro & Pacino

Mike Meyers is my sarcastic choice for number one actor to play a gangster, actually several gangsters ( Dr. Evil, Fat Bastard and Gold Member) and the hero in the same movie.

Joe Pesci by a mile just because of GoodFellas.

  9. mackcarrington - Aug 18, 2014 at 10:28 AM

Notice the MGM Grand logo on the cabinet behind them. That’s the way to comp high rollers.

Zack Morris pulled off more crime than any of these so-called gangsters. He was the true OG! Bayside Boss!

If you’re going to name Pesci, might as well make it based on Goodfellas AND Casino (which is my personal favorite, leading to a heavy bias on my part).

Robert DeNiro in Casino qualifies as the best Jewish gangster role ever (even if he always thought of himself more as a mob advisor).

Kurt: I’m a lifelong Wizards fan & seeing Pierce in a Wizards’ uniform is going to be odd. It’ll be odd when I see it for the 82nd time. Well, that’s if he plays two seasons – I doubt he suits up for all 82 this season.

This might be odder than watching Jordan in the bad blue Wizards uniform. At least he’d been retired, been a part of the organization, and blown a #1 overall pick by then. Granted, Pierce is closing in on qualifying as a shell of his prime self – it’s nothing fantastic like, say, a true top two superstar signing with the team (I’m not buying into that hype yet…nope! nowaynowaynoway).
