Paul George bought all his old 24 gear, donated it to his high school

Paul George is switching numbers when he returns, he will go to No. 13. So then we can all call him PG-13. It’s all about the marketing.

Because of when he applied (and the fact he is likely out for all of next season) George was not required to buy all the old 24 gear on the NBA.com marketplace. But he did anyway.

Then he donated it to his high school, Pete Knight High School in Palmdale, California (an hour north of Los Angeles). Darren Rovel of ESPN first noticed it and NBA.com’s All Ball blog collected some of the tweets from the high school that got the gear, and from George himself.

Well done Paul George. Classy move.

Now recover so you get back on the court.

I guess it nice, but does it mean that the boys and girls basketball teams will all wear Pacers #24 jerseys?

    • azarkhan - Aug 14, 2014 at 12:16 PM

Exactly. Besides, George is making over $15 million per year. He can afford to donate a gymnasium.

I am sure they will enjoy the jockstraps and underwear donated!!!!

Guy does something nice and someone still has to find a way to hate. I wonder how much the people who bash him contribute to their communities …

Oh, puleeeze with the juvenile “hate”. I guarantee you that you don’t have the slightest clue what REAL HATE is.

What the hell are they all going to do with old George jerseys? He probably should’ve just wrote his school a check.

    • gostlcards5 - Aug 14, 2014 at 2:06 PM

Um…wear them. You think all the kids at his school have families that can afford NBA gear?

Totally agree with p31….why hate on a guy doing something nice? Crap has floated around about PG, but he’s a good kid. He owned up to the dumb stuff (aka – the stripper, etc.). Here’s hoping that he returns as good or better than when he suffered the injury.

Who just wants to wear random NBA gear? Even kids who can’t afford it wouldn’t want to wear some random jersey. Like it’s such a boon just to get Paul George’s unwanted number on a Pacers jersey. He should’ve just sent all the kids $10 dollar bills – that would’ve been more useful.

What the hell are you going to do with your old LeBron Heat jerseys?

      • antistratfordian - Aug 14, 2014 at 3:51 PM

Well if I had actually bought one I guess I would donate it to my high school?

Last year Paul George bought out all the tickets to a home game at his alma mater Fresno State, and gave them away to the students for free. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, but that never keeps the trolls away.

  5. antistratfordian - Aug 14, 2014 at 3:53 PM

These better not count towards his jersey sales numbers.

    • p31squared - Aug 14, 2014 at 6:00 PM

      Because, that’s important…
