Is Paul George changing numbers?

Jul 24, 2014, 3:33 PM EDT

Paul George has worn No. 24 through four NBA seasons, including two trips to the All-Star Game.

But is he about to change numbers?

Trece is 13 in Spanish.

If he does this, his nickname instantly becomes PG-13, which is great if you’re a Disney movie but a bit odd for an NBA player. That said it is catchy, I guess.

Maybe this is something else entirely, but it feels like a number change is coming.

Famous Pacers who wore 13? Mark Jackson. George can surpass that Pacers’ legacy.

Pretty cool nickname, hope it don’t translates to his game.

      “Trece” is Paul George’s guess.

His guess for the number of games Roy Hibbert will record a “0” on the stat sheet next season. (With a minimum of 20 minutes played)

yeah that’s his new number when he comes to the bulls in a surprise trade….

hey a guy can dream right? Now begin the bombardment of thumbs downs

    • freudnumb - Jul 24, 2014 at 4:42 PM

just to play along with this crazy idea … isn’t Noah, arguably the best player on the current Chicago team, wearing #13?

      • rexgrossman8 - Jul 24, 2014 at 7:30 PM

He is no Luc Longley my friend. 3 titles.

      • bringin1234 - Jul 28, 2014 at 9:07 AM

yes…. Stop messing with my fun! In my fantasy world we can have 2 number 13’s

  3. ProBasketballPundit - Jul 24, 2014 at 3:56 PM

Wow Bill Simmons called this one a while ago.

  4. antistratfordian - Jul 24, 2014 at 4:08 PM

PG-13 would imply that his game is safe and kid friendly. I think you’d want to stay away from PG-13 as a nickname.

Damn, looks like I’ll have to buy a new Paul George jersey now…But that’s okay, it’s worth the money to represent PG-13. Can’t wait to see it in the new Pacers throw back uniform they’re sporting this year

    • therealhtj - Jul 24, 2014 at 5:05 PM

Does it come with a countdown clock to when he leaves you in free agency?

      • bball242322 - Jul 25, 2014 at 12:06 PM

LOL u realize PG just signed a 5 year extension last year…? Still has 4 years left you moron. If he wanted to leave, he wouldn’t have signed an extension. He loves Indy. Sooooooo that was about the dumbest comment you could’ve possibly made…

  6. bball242322 - Jul 24, 2014 at 4:26 PM

Uh-oh, PG-13 is heating up! Warning, this game contains strong language, violence and a possible heat check! We might have to make this performance rated “R” — it’s too hot to handle!

      Stop stealing Bill Simmons quote.

      • jimeejohnson - Jul 25, 2014 at 3:37 AM

Stop that peabrain from stealing your username.

      • bball242322 - Jul 25, 2014 at 12:08 PM

Stealing, I purposely posted his quote. This is a blog, I’ll post whatever I want. You trying to be English teacher? worried about what others are posting in a comment section of a blog, LMAO

Unfortunate marketing, whether advised or of his own volition. Certainly catchy, no worse than AK-47 in denotation, but less cool in connotation. Maybe these were the other options for his brand reboot (and why they were rejected):

    PG-1 “p-gone” (infers urine removal)
    PG-8 (too golfy)
    PGtips (we’re not in London)
“I are PG. You are PG. WE R PG.” #RPG (grammar issues)

That’s a strong 20 sack you got there.

  8. explosionsauce - Jul 24, 2014 at 4:47 PM

The only disney movies that are PG-13 are the ones coming out of marvel studios

    • 1friendofthepeople - Jul 24, 2014 at 4:52 PM

you’re right, and those movies are always about SUPERHEROS

      • fanofthegame79 - Jul 24, 2014 at 5:57 PM

I see what you’re trying to do there…and no.

  9. caeser12 - Jul 24, 2014 at 5:01 PM

    PG trying to stay relevant.

    • bball242322 - Jul 25, 2014 at 12:10 PM

Dumb comment. 2 All-star appearances in a row, 2 conference finals in a row, best record in the reg season last year, best player on his team, 1st-team all defense, on the World Cup roster.

Please remind me, how is he not relevant?

      • caeser12 - Jul 25, 2014 at 2:09 PM

0 Finals appearances, 0 heart, 0 leadership skills.

        How’s that.

As for you calling me dumb. World Cup Roster?

      • caeser12 - Jul 25, 2014 at 2:13 PM

As for the World Cup roster, who cares about that?

All he has done is lead the Pacers to the “We took the Heat to 7 games ” championship.

Watch him now after the REAL heart of the team Lance is gone.

This is Rated R for retarded.

  11. patfic5 - Jul 24, 2014 at 6:09 PM

Maybe he means they will be the 13th seed in the East this year. #keepyogirlsawayfromthisman

  12. sportsfan18 - Jul 24, 2014 at 6:18 PM

He took an IQ test this summer…

    • bball242322 - Jul 25, 2014 at 12:12 PM

Does the number 18 in your name signify your IQ. Seems about right

  13. mackcarrington - Jul 24, 2014 at 7:46 PM

Uhhh… yeah… and this is why I don’t buy jerseys.

  14. thenew013 - Jul 25, 2014 at 11:49 AM

PG gonna do big things this year. Maybe even an MVP?????? He became my favorite player to watch last year and 13 is my favorite number so I am so cool with this. Just don’t do too good lol. Go Cavs.

    • bball242322 - Jul 25, 2014 at 12:11 PM

      Absolutely, i couldn’t agree more

  15. bball242322 - Jul 25, 2014 at 12:15 PM
