The Cavaliers agreed to a two-year deal with Mike Miller on Tuesday, a shooter who had a resurgent season in Memphis last year after being a teammate of LeBron James in Miami the three seasons prior.

Cleveland went out and got another of LeBron’s former Heat teammates on Wednesday, in a move that will add yet another veteran shooter to the roster.

From Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal:

The Cavaliers agreed to a one-year contract with veteran wing James Jones, a league source told the Beacon Journal today.

The deal is worth the league minimum.

Jones is an 11-year veteran who has been with Miami for the last six seasons. He played sparingly last year, appearing in just 20 regular season games while averaging 11.8 minutes per contest. But he did manage to knock down 51.9 percent of his looks from three-point distance (in 54 attempts).

Miller can certainly still contribute meaningful minutes if he remains healthy, and shot 45.9 percent from three-point distance last season. With Jones, exactly how much he can be expected to produce is a bit less certain.

What’s clear, however, is that both of these additions were made with the intent of giving LeBron some familiar faces to team with in his new situation.
