Andrew Wiggins with 360 spin move into thunderous dunk (VINE)

Jul 14, 2014, 9:20 PM EDT

LAS VEGAS — Andrew Wiggins is an athletic freak who is starting to feel more comfortable at the NBA level, which is leading to plays like that.

That is why he was drafted No. 1, why he had scouts drooling. Just not many guys who can do that.

He also had a monster block of Nerlens Noel, and he made a few other plays (surprising guys by running the floor to knock the ball away in transition, covering ground to get in passing lanes for steals and just generally doing things you’re not supposed to be able to do).

With some mentoring from Kyrie Irving and LeBron James it will be interesting to watch him this season.

    Do. Not. Trade. This. Kid.

      you said it sista

    • handsomerob86 - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:54 PM

I think they will regret it big time if they do. If I was the wolves tho, I would trade love for Wiggins and a pick straight up. Wiggins seems like he makes that an even trade.

      • antistratfordian - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:10 PM

        Well I wouldn’t go that far…

    • realfootballfan - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:57 PM

Yep. They need to have an eye on grooming him to take over with the franchise if they’re smart.

    • apkyletexas - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:59 PM

When was the last time Wade did that??? LeBron must be drooling.

      • crik911 - Jul 15, 2014 at 9:30 PM

thats funny as you mention that i do notice some ‘flash’ in that move

  2. rrhoe - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:32 PM

    Nice……

  3. mightbegoingtohellforthis - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:38 PM

He sure is making it hard for them to even think about trading him.

  4. theebadguy - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:39 PM

Kevin Love dam sure can’t do that

  5. nfl4days - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:43 PM

The T-wolves can forget about getting Wiggins.

  6. andreboy1 - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:54 PM

Summer League is not “the NBA level”

  7. bigbenh8tr - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:54 PM

Wow were these moves at Kansas

    • bigbenh8tr - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:55 PM

      *Where were these moves

    • antistratfordian - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:53 PM

This is the thing. I was saying it in older threads – people are using outdated methods to spot the next superstar. It’s not 2000 anymore, but they still scout like it is. It’s 2014. It’s the age of the unselfish superstar scorer.

  8. mackcarrington - Jul 14, 2014 at 9:57 PM

Wow! He took off from the free throw lane. He was in the air a long time for that dunk.

    • sportsfan18 - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:18 PM

he came from the side, not from the top.

you may click on the loop of him dunking above and stop it and look at where both of his feet were when he took off to rise up to dunk.

the kid IS an athletic freak, but he was close to the basket here

      • mackcarrington - Jul 15, 2014 at 3:44 AM

Yes. I know he came from the side of the lane. I didn’t say free throw LINE. I still think it was impressive. And no, he wasn’t that close to the basket.

  9. rexgrossman8 - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:04 PM

Better than anyone on the Heat.

    • bigbenh8tr - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:27 PM

Damn good but he’s not better then Bish yet

      • money2long - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:28 PM

        Lol bish

  10. antistratfordian - Jul 14, 2014 at 10:49 PM

Oh boy! The Cavs are going to be must-see TV. Bron to Wiggins! Wiggins to Bron! The Q is going to be Qrazy!

    • realfootballfan - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:01 PM

If GM LeBron doesn’t get his way that is.

      • antistratfordian - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:05 PM

LeBron isn’t trying to get rid of Wiggins. Where did you hear that?

      • money2long - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:31 PM

Not that he may be getting rid of wiggins but maybe he’d love to play with love.
No telling what those wishes would lead to but it signals an indirect request of trading said wiggins.

      • realfootballfan - Jul 15, 2014 at 12:25 AM

Didn’t say he’s trying to get rid of him, but he’s allegedly asked for Love and the young guy curiously absent from his letter explaining his decision was Wiggins. He mentioned other young players by name. LeBron isn’t built like that to want a guy traded just because, but if the Timberwolves want Wiggins and he wants Love, I’m just saying, he’s not about to go to bat for the kid.

      • antistratfordian - Jul 15, 2014 at 2:36 AM

realfootballfan – He only mentioned 4 players. You think he’s trying to trade all the rest? You think he thinks Waiters is untouchable? I think it’s more of an experience thing – Wiggins and Bennett haven’t earned the right to be on LeBron’s mind yet.

      • money2long - Jul 15, 2014 at 10:18 AM

Anti, have you earned the right to be on lebron’s mind?

  11. sumkat - Jul 14, 2014 at 11:40 PM

If Embiid doesn’t get healthy, or doesn’t pan out, I am going to be upset about the sixers being that horrible and missing out on this guy and Parker….well, forever

  12. lbeezyse - Jul 15, 2014 at 12:50 AM

Notice how they never talk about how poor of a shooter Wigs is? Espn even called it out. Never thought I’d see them be the objective ones.

    • antistratfordian - Jul 15, 2014 at 2:39 AM

His three ball looked promising the other day. But, you know how it is with young athletes… there’s a reason the jumper is shaky… it’s because they’re so athletic, they can get anywhere they want, when they want, they don’t have to shoot over the top. But he can work on it and improve it. No big.

  13. campcouch - Jul 15, 2014 at 1:39 AM

I know it’s summer league, but a good chunk of the guys on the floor were on NBA teams last year. Some even started so to lessen the bit Wiggins does showcase is nonsense. When a guy like Brian Scalabrine who gets labelled as a bit player or “garbage” still drops 40 on college and loud mouth street ballers in pick-up games, you know that the level of play in the league is the best.

  14. jrob23 - Jul 15, 2014 at 3:05 AM

It’s strange. This kid is as good a prospect as LJ and even though he has gotten hype, it’s nowhere near Lebron’s hype when he came out. This kid is a better defender than LJ and a better shooter. He doesn’t have LJ’s body but like LJ, a little PED here and there and presto!! Kid’s a beast. If he stays in CLE they will be tough to beat in the East
