NBA players react on twitter to LeBron returning to Cleveland

Jul 12, 2014, 9:30 AM EDT

LeBron James pretty much blew up twitter Friday with his announcement he is returning to Cleveland.

It was not only fans that reacted, it was his fellow NBA players as well. Here is a sample of what was said.

Cleveland wanted Drummond and would have taken him number 1, but his Bball IQ was ZERO! Drummond wishes he was on that bandwagon. He would have been a nice fit for that team

    • aurelh23 - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:14 AM

You do realize that Drummond was drafted in 2012 right? The year that Cleveland didn’t have the 1 pick lol They took Waiters at 4 and regretted it since. 😃

    • imakcds - Jul 12, 2014 at 11:01 AM

I take it you were a Heat fan.

    • campcouch - Jul 12, 2014 at 11:17 AM

They did draft Thompson the previous year. Drummond career: 11ppg/10rpg, Thompson career: 10ppg/8rpg. Thompson isn’t as efficient as Drummond but the numbers are close. They also needed a 2 guard so the needs of 2012 didn’t call for another big so soon.

    Ohhh funny Embiid!

    • fanofthegame79 - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:08 AM

I think he has a great sense of humor!

    • zerole00 - Jul 12, 2014 at 2:56 PM

lol I thought MCW’s bandwagon burn was better.

  3. samsonight1010 - Jul 12, 2014 at 9:57 AM

Lebron doesn’t want Simone who is useless outside of the paint

  4. samsonight1010 - Jul 12, 2014 at 9:58 AM

    Someone*

  5. Vir Publius - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:05 AM

Why is there all of this reaction to the second best basketball player? #KDstillExists

    • chiadam - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:40 AM

You are aware that this isn’t twitter and that twitter is for idiots, right?

      Oh, wait…you’re not.

    • bigmeechy74 - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:49 AM

lebron is the best player in the world and it isn’t even close

      • anjohn39 - Jul 13, 2014 at 12:06 PM

It very close and as time goes on he will be eclipsed like every other great. LBJ no MVP, no 1st defensive team and no ring. Those were the accolades that people pointed to the last few years on why Lbj is the greatest. Durant only 25 will be 26 next season and once he hits his prime 27,28 …its game over

  6. blakegblogs - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM

    Lol Rubio

  7. bobbybouche305 - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:47 AM

It is what it is, one of the few Heat fans left when dust clears….But what kills me is NO ONE hating, talking, ripping James for the job he did on Bosh and Wade when they opted out for him….brothers 4 life???????#inPatweTrust,#Strive4mediocrity. #YokonoofHeatles…..

    • imakcds - Jul 12, 2014 at 11:03 AM

first thing I thought of was Wade.
      Jeff Teague did too.

    • antistratfordian - Jul 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM

The job he did on Bosh? That dude just signed for $118 million dollars. He should be sending LBJ a thank you card.

  8. daddyghi - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:48 AM

so whats next to the Uncle Drew story line?

  9. saint1997 - Jul 12, 2014 at 10:57 AM

    Good question! 23 or 6?

    • antistratfordian - Jul 12, 2014 at 12:57 PM

Reggie Miller was on NBA TV last night saying that he was going to go back to #32. He wore it in high school for a minute.

What a day yesterday! Can’t wait to see what today brings.

    • rrhoe - Jul 12, 2014 at 12:16 PM

I can see Carmelo trying to recapture the spotlight after being upstaged by LeBron.

      • jimeejohnson - Jul 12, 2014 at 12:54 PM

Carmelo has no chance of upstaging Lebron: Carmelo hasn’t won anything in this league besides the title “ball hog” and he plays for one of the worst teams in the league, the pathetic New Yawk Knicks. Carmelo couldn’t upstage Lebron even in some delusional fantasy.

      • bkbell3 - Jul 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM

jimeejohnson, if melo came over your house and shot you to death i bet that would upstage the lbj story.lol wanna help prove it?

  11. timmons94 - Jul 12, 2014 at 1:08 PM

As a pistons fan Andre needs to wise up. Cavs fans are as loyal as u get.

  12. tombstone7 - Jul 12, 2014 at 1:51 PM

Bad move…….Gilbert was only remorseful because he loss money…..if he was losing money, he would still have that letter posted on the team’s website!

I bet Miami wins another Championship before LBJ does in Clevland!~

    • realfootballfan - Jul 12, 2014 at 4:25 PM

It’s strange to me that he overlooked Gilbert’s tirade, but that was his decision to make. As far as who will win what next, let’s not go making proclamations. The Cavaliers did that and you see where that got them the last 4 years, lol.

  13. timmons94 - Jul 12, 2014 at 5:31 PM

Tombstone. You got to be kidding… Miami is done… Done …as for Gilbert. What did people want him to do. Throw a party…
As far as doing for money lol.. Dude is a billionaire… What he makes on cavs is peanuts

    • realfootballfan - Jul 12, 2014 at 5:51 PM

Maybe not act like he owns the player because he chose to play for another team. A simple “We’re shocked and disappointed, especially in the forum chosen for LeBron to change teams” would have sufficed instead of crazy people letters. Please stop defending that lunacy. He ultimately came back to Cleveland, so it’s okay to admit that was a mistake not justified by the TV special or anything else for that matter.

    GO SPURS GO
