John Wall on Wizards’ 2014-15 season: “I’m thinking why not our time right now?”

Jun 17, 2014, 3:25 PM EST

Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall was on NBC Sports Network’s Sports Dash with Dave Briggs and talked about the recently concluded NBA Finals and the future of the Wizards, who took a big step forward to the second round next season.

Highlights of the interview include:

• On the Wizards next season, “I’m thinking why not our time right now?”

• He wants to see the team bring back Marcin Gortat and Trevor Ariza.

• He doesn’t like the idea of raising the age limit to 20, suggesting if teams don’t think a guy is ready they shouldn’t draft him. (You mean have the owners/teams accept the responsibility of their risks? Good luck with that.)

• He says Trevor Booker can’t give him grief about Wall’s terrible first pitch because Booker didn’t even get on the mound. It should be noted Wall improved the next time out.
