Watch elementary school class explode when Michael Jordan walks in

Jun 10, 2014, 3:15 PM EDT

From Hornets’ Instagram account: A class picture turns into an unexpected surprise as Hornets Chairman Michael Jordan visiting Hornets Nest Elementary students in their classrooms.

It’s still a huge deal when Michael Jordan walks in the room.

The Charlotte Hornets (man it is good to type that again) are doing a number of community events right now, promoting the team and the return of Buzz, the Hornet mascot. This is a team trying to build on the momentum of a successful year in a community where the relationship with the team needs to be rebuilt after a couple or previous owners shredded it. Jordan is figuring out this ownership thing more and more.

But there is still nothing like him walking into a classroom.

I’m excited for the fans of Charlotte. It should be fun having a team that they want to root for again.

    RIP Bobcats.

sorry, off topic, but the world cup begins this thursday…

Spain / Miami Heat = can’t be beat at times
Brazil / Lakers = default team people support
Germany / SA Spurs = they know their stuff..
England / NY Knicks = Most valuable franchise but underwhelms all the time
Argentina / OKC = Talent, but can’t seem to win it.
    Urguay / Clippers = racism…
Mexico / Raptors = rabid fans but no chance they win it.

What country are you from? Cuz in ‘Merica, FOOTBALL starts in August.

      • norcalkingsfan - Jun 10, 2014 at 4:37 PM

Soccer doesn’t have enough commercials for football fans.

        United Sates of ‘Merica!

Both Ravens and hwatt NAILED IT! LOL!

    • asimonetti88 - Jun 10, 2014 at 3:51 PM

If you’re going to go with the Clippers are racist thing, I’d go with Italy.

      • RavenzGunnerz - Jun 10, 2014 at 5:18 PM

Nah… Suarez = Sterling… plus, Uruguay is kind like near Brasil… who are the Lakers.

    • duhwighthoward - Jun 10, 2014 at 4:32 PM

      Great post.

In Mexico, when their team plays, everything shuts down. Even at the biggest corporations, everyone leaves to watch the game.

    • nflcrimerankingscom - Jun 10, 2014 at 6:03 PM

USA / Hawks = Never great, never terrible, seem to work hard but always end up being mediocre…

    What about Colombia?

  5. beach305 - Jun 10, 2014 at 4:28 PM

As a Miami Heat fan, I wish the Bobcats the best. The NBA is much better when everyone has a chance to be proud of their hometown team.

    • money2long - Jun 10, 2014 at 4:31 PM

Why was this prefaced saying as a heat fan ?
      Not necessary

      • sportsfan18 - Jun 10, 2014 at 6:51 PM

He SHOULD have prefaced it by saying from a “CURRENT” Miami Heat fan…

Because whenever Lebron retires or goes elsewhere, well he’ll no longer be a Miami Heat fan…

    World Cup

    USA = 76ers

    • sportsfan18 - Jun 10, 2014 at 6:56 PM

      Why not the Cubs?

      Lovable Losers…

And the Sixers would take the Lakers in a series right now, tomorrow, next week and next year too…

Kobe would be like, wow kids today are tall…

Kobe would be like, wow kids today have hops…

Kobe would be like, wow kids today are fast…

Then Kobe would say “Hey Coach whoever you are, I need a blow… so what if it’s only been 3 min’s of game time… I’m cramping up…”

Kobe yelling, oops, encouraging his teammates from the bench… “come on, if you want me to even talk to your sorry behind, gotta get some achievements under your belt… No, you aren’t tired yet… because I’m not fully rested yet so you gotta stay out there… better not give me a deficit when I get back in there either boy…”
