So UCLA’s Zach LaVine has some hops

Jun 4, 2014, 4:31 PM EDT

Zach LaVine, one of the three Bruins who could go in the first round of the NBA Draft later this month, was at the Lakers’ facility working out and they tweeted out this photo.

To answer your question, he tested with a 46″ vertical leap at the Lakers workout.

Damn. That’s higher than the already impressive Andrew Wiggins vertical.

Of course, LaVine having elite athleticism has never been the question. What scouts are divided over is whether he is basically just an AAU player or if he can develop the needed skills and discipline to make it in the NBA.

Somebody is going to draft him late in the first round, early in the second, making a bet that he can develop. However high he can jump, don’t expect him to be impacting NBA games for a few years

Every mock I have seen has him borderline lottery/early twenties at the lowest. Where on Earth are you getting late first/early second? Dude will go in the teens.

9 points, 2 rebounds a game. So is he a good defender or something?

Was about to comment the same thing

…in regards to him being drafter way sooner than late first early second

the combination of white and black is a wonderful thing

He should consider becoming an Olympic high jumper then because he’s not a very good you know…basketball player.

A first round draft pick makes more than an Olympic high jumper. That first round guaranteed draft pick money is no joke.

Where were these hops during the NCAA Tournament?

    • unxpexted1 - Jun 5, 2014 at 4:47 PM
