Lance Stephenson had epic flop in Game 5, too

May 29, 2014, 9:59 AM EDT

That’s Lance being Lance.

And it’s going to cost him $5,000.

The Pacers have turned the keys to their offense over to Lance Stephenson more and more this season, and with that you get good and bad Lance. He is a gifted athlete who can get in the lane and score on just about any defender (he was a big part of the Pacers Game 5 win), but he can also be selfish with the ball (he really was the second half of the season after not making the All-Star Team).

And when he gets emotionally into a game he does some odd things. Like blow in LeBron James’ ear. Or jump into a Heat huddle.

Or try to draw a foul on LeBron James with an epic flop.

It didn’t work and you can bet in the next 48 hours the league will give Stephenson another $5,000 fine for flopping. And he should just write the check and accept it, because that was about as blatant a flop as you are going to see.

Shouldn’t it cost 10k, since that would be number 2 in the playoffs?

I would still rate it at .75 Game 2 Lance Flop and .25 Lebron/West Double-Flop.

How this guy gets close calls or “50-50″ foul calls is beyond me. With a history of flopping like this he should get no love from the refs.

Well if that’s your reasoning then Lebron, Wade and Bosh should never get calls either. Then these playoff games would turn into a wrestling match, and no one wants to see that.
The refs have to just stay focused and call it as they see it, they can’t make calls or no-calls based on the guy’s jersey number involved in the play. They struggle to get it right enough as it is, let’s not make it any more difficult!

He has talent, but I am afraid he does not respect his coach or his coach is afraid to coach him. Would he behave like this if the coach was Phil or Thibs?

Being a bulls fan there is a lot of talk about this offseason. No more Boozer and either Love, Melo, or Mirotic next year. Im not getting my hopes up with this front office though. I used to think if we cant get a big time player we should at least sign a quality player like Lance, but now I dont know. I think its clear hes immature and may have been a big reason for indiana’s collapse this year. I wouldnt want that guy on my team. but maybe Thibs would get his respect.

He must be sore from hitting the deck so much, what an absolute clown. Feel bad for West and George, they have to put up with this dummy.

    Flop?

Nah, Lance is just full of hot air and he was practicing blowing because he hadn’t yet blown in LBJ’s ear…

When he blew out all of his hot air, it knocked him on his azz…
