Lance Stephenson fined $10,000, Roy Hibbert $5,000 for Game 5 flops (VIDEO)

May 29, 2014, 4:00 PM EDT

The second Lance Stephenson tried to draw a foul on LeBron James during Game 5 Wednesday with the obvious flop you see above it was just as obvious a fine from the league was coming.

It did on Thursday — $10,000. The league made it official and noted the $10,000 amount was because this was Stephenson’s second called out flop of the Eastern Conference Finals (both on LeBron).

Lance’s flopping just seems an extension of his blowing-in-the-ear, jumping-in-the-Heat’s-huddles style. It’s just Lance being Lance and we all shrug.

Roy Hibbert was fined $5,000 on Thursday for a flop in the same game —Hibbert took a casual elbow in the back from Mario Chalmers and went flying like he was shot out of a cannon.

Give credit to the officials, who didn’t call the foul the Pacers were trying to draw in either case.

    Shocker!

Hibbert looks like he was diving into a swimming pool.

Lance did his usual shot by a sniper routine only to pop back up and ask for the ball.

    Tomorrow their dumb shenanigans end.

      Hibbert risks injury doing that.

I’m confused. Judging by a lot of responses on this site you’d think the Heat are the big floppers.

In fact I can recall several posters talking about how the Heat are the biggest floppers in the league.

Pacers fans? Care to respond to this one? You better get your last words in before Friday because that’s the last time anybody’s going to listen to you before they start watching the Heat in the finals.

The Refs basically cheated Lebron last game. What makes you think they won’t do it to Bosh or Wade next game to force a game 7?

I’ve always said it…..EVERYONE flops. There are certain players that are upper crust for it. Lance is definitely one of them.

The Hibbert one is non-typical, IMO, as a guy that watched nearly all of the Pacers games this year. Selling a foul is one thing….that one was beyond ridiculous.

Also, I think it’s ludicrous that Lance has been fined twice in this series and Hibbert once, when Wade was not. He flopped big time on Lance’s drive in Game 3 or 4 (can’t remember which now)….thrusting his head back like he’d been hit by a Tyson uppercut, when Lance’s elbow didn’t even touch him.

Pacer fan right here – Everyone flops. It’s a sad thing, but the floppers are generally the ones getting the calls in their favor. Just ask Lebron and Wade, Lance just isn’t as good of a flopper as them. That’s why he’s always getting fined and those 2 aren’t…As far as Hibbert goes, well Lance’s blow in Lebron’s ear would be powerful enough to knock Hibbert down. I honestly don’t know if the Hibbert diving into the pool was a flop, I just think he’s that weak and sad that the slight hand in his back really did cause him to go diving…

Just as long as they don’t fine Lance for blowing in LeBron’s ear. That was the highlight of last nights game.

That Hibbert flop is hilarious. That’s a good one.

    • southbeachtalent - May 29, 2014 at 4:22 PM

      it is hahahaha

    • gostlcards5 - May 30, 2014 at 9:11 AM

Agreed….it’s baaaddd. I don’t see why they call Lance’s flop “epic” on the clip header though. It wasn’t nearly as epic as the first one he got fined for.

Yet no fine for Wade’s flop against Stephenson. Yes Lance has brought it upon himself with all the antics, but this isn’t 2006 anymore. Or is it?

That Hibbert flop may be worse than KD’s helicopter flop! Hilarious!

Lance should be suspended, whats $10,000 to these guys.

All the flopping going on in the playoffs…

“The only other player to be fined for flopping this postseason is San Antonio Spurs power forward Tiago Splitter, who was fined $5,000 Wednesday.”

    Wow, just wow

There’s a difference between flopping when you’re actually fouled/actual contact and just looking blatantly horrible when you do it. The veterans know how do it. Young guys like Bobble Head Stephenson flail around any time someone gets near them.

      • ranfan12 - May 30, 2014 at 8:58 AM

that’ a good point. i just thought that some of these calls get reviewed after the game. i mean everyone knew vc flopped, but i don’t remember reading about a fine.

LMAO!!!! Hibbert yo big a** over 7FT tall need to stop just stop!!

Not a fan of either team but damn Miami need to close them out, I’m sick of the Pacers…they’re definitely not ready to contend for the title just based off their antics

Lebron basically hit his knees and threw himself into the camera man row early in the series when West brushed his back from behind…

    No fine.
