Manu Ginobili, Russell Westbrook exchange ridiculous threes to end half (VIDEO)

May 25, 2014, 10:09 PM EDT

Manu Ginobili and Russell Westbrook put on a show at the end of the first half.

It was a fitting ending to an entertaining, up-tempo, a little out of control in the first half.

First Ginobili hits a contested three — which gave him 20 points in the first half and made him 5-of-7 from three.

Nobody is going to out swagger Russell Westbrook, who comes down and hits his own crazy three.

With Serge Ibaka back this has been a fun series again, changing the entire dynamic.

30+ foot end-of-the-quarter heaves shouldn’t count against players’ shooting percentage. I LOVE all the half/full court shot attempts that typically accompany the start of the playoffs; and it’s clear that players simply won’t put those shots up during the regular season out of stat consciousness. So take it off the books and let ’em fly.

      I agree 100%

gonna count them and the points for them if they go in then?

if yes, so only count them when they go in but not when they don’t.

kind of like everyone gets a trophy and has to play too…

Uh, these are the BIG boys, pro’s being paid MILLIONS to play a game and they can’t take a missed shot on their stats?

      Players today can’t shoot anyways…

I don’t feel sorry for them taking and missing a heave… most of them CAN’T shoot free throws… like when NO ONE is guarding them…

Ginobili equipped those LeBron 11s. That’s legendary level gear. +40% accuracy. Of course he couldn’t miss.

Westbrook is a clown. Dude was shooting like garbage then made a lucky shot and acted like he just dropped 50 in the first half.

He acts like that cause he’s from L.A.

      • jimeejohnson - May 26, 2014 at 3:43 AM

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. He’s an urban youth. Larry Bird didn’t act like that cause he’s a farm boy. And if you believe that…

Larry Legend trash talked, a lot…

But Larry Legend didn’t act like a clown…

Russell Westbrook looks like a Ninja Turtle.

I always thought he looked more like a Battle Toad, Al Harrington looks like a Ninja Turtle.

Yeah, he probably shouldn’t get excited about making a big shot, right? Ban all excitement and emotion from the game immediately
