Russell Westbrook almost runs over Clippers mop girl

May 12, 2014, 12:20 PM EDT

source:

The speed and ferocity of the Thunder’s early attacks on the Clippers Sunday caught everyone off guard — including the girl who mops the floor.

In the first quarter the Clippers had the ball and, as she is supposed to do, the girl with the floor mop comes out at the other end and tries to wipe up any sweat on the floor. But then Russell Westbrook strips Chris Paul and is off the the races…

And that leaves the girl with the mop scrambling. She did a good job just getting out of there.

Hat tip to @JDonSports for the gif (and Lang at All Ball)

I’ve noticed more and more that the mop people are racing deep out onto the court by the 3-point line on what seems like far too many possessions. At some point, someone is going to get run over.

And I will watch it over and over and laugh.

Westbrook flops on his 3′s, so the floor gets soaked there.

Man, like teabone said, Westbrook is blazing, that dude has to be among the fastes guards in the league, eh? Cheesh, who’s faster fellas? Wall?

All jokes aside, pretty risky for them to allow that during play. I guess she’s expected to mop with her head up so she can get out of the way? And what are the rules concerning this? Is she considered part of the court like referees? So, if Westbrook had ran into her and lost the ball play would have just continued?

    Don’t forget Durant, Duhwhight.
