Jabari Parker tells Dan Patrick two-and-done is “ridiculous,” likes ‘Melo comparison

Apr 24, 2014, 3:59 PM EDT

Jabari Parker — the former Duke forward who will almost certainly be one of the top three picks in the NBA Draft this year — swung by the Dan Patrick Show to talk going pro.

Parker called the idea of a two-and-done rule “ridiculous” but added that he thought he needed a year in college, that he wasn’t ready for the NBA straight out of high school.

Parker said that the Duke loss to Mercer and being out of the tournament that early almost had him staying another year at Duke (at least that’s what Parker is smart enough to say publicly).

Parker also says he loves being compared to Carmelo Anthony. When Dan Patrick says “but you pass” Parker responds “but I have a team.” Ouch.

At least we don’t have to worry about the Knicks using a first round pick on him!

      Because, no draft picks.

He didn’t actually spend a year in college. More like 8 months.

does it really matter? He spent the an entire “school year” in college

      • mackcarrington - Apr 24, 2014 at 7:17 PM

Of course it doesn’t really matter. I’m just exercising my constitutional right to be snarky.
        If that’s OK with you.

The phrase “two and Done” is ridiculous.

Change it to “two and through”

    • fanofthegame79 - Apr 24, 2014 at 6:23 PM

I can support “two and through”. Go coin it!

Not sure I’d like a comparison to a chunky volume shooter who disappears in big spots…. but don’t worry, Carmelo will score 50 on a Wednesday in February.
