Kyrie Irving out at least two weeks with bicep strain, may well be done for season

Mar 17, 2014, 7:28 PM EST

It was an innocent play, Kyrie Irving was trying to strip Blake Griffin of the ball on an offensive rebound (the ball hit Griffin in the face and he tried to sell that as a foul).

The force of Griffin coming down (and the fact he’s made out of granite) and Kyrie Irving’s arm going up caused a bicep strain, one that will keep the star point guard out at least two weeks, the team announced Monday. After two weeks Irving will be re-evaluated.

In two weeks there will be just more than two weeks remaining in the season. There are already reports that the Cavaliers will just shut him down for the season.

Which is what they should do. They are 4.5 out of the playoffs and they are not leaping the Knicks and catching the Hawks at this point, Cleveland needs to think draft. Right now they would pick ninth in the upcoming draft and if they can get more ping pong balls for the lottery at this point they should do it.

He just needs to take it easy and be ready to come back strong next year. Hopefully we’ll get more ping pong balls and use this pick as a trade chip to try to land Kevin Love or another star.

Guess who hasn’t earned a max contract? This guy. All hat, no cattle.

This guy gets hurt way too much.

He was anointed a great player before he even achieved anything. And don’t give me that crap about the all-star game MVP.

    Stephon Marbury 2.0

My arm hurts so I’m going home now. And all you fans who have tickets and expected to see your team trying to win every game, Kurt says screw your expectations, let’s lose them all so next year’s ticket holders can watch some other teenage phenom try to win with Kyrie.

So I’m sure getting hit in the face with the ball like that sucks, but don’t you think that was a bit dramatic, Blake? You got hit with a ball, not a bat. That recoil was embarrassing to watch in slow motion.

You guys were up 11 points at the time, and it’s CLEVELAND!
