Faux Scalabrine “30 for 30″ trailer is brilliant (VIDEO)

Mar 16, 2014, 2:01 PM EDT

How I wish “Brian” were real.

Alas, this is a faux documentary on former NBA player Brian Scalabrine is not real. Still, the trailer is brilliant.

An actual documentary following Scalabrine, now an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors, would be interesting. He’s long been one of the better interviews around the NBA, his insights and life as an assistant coach would be something I would watch. But this trailer will have to do for now.

I remember that reverse layup a couple years ago haha that was impressive for a white guy in his mid 30s.

If you’re reading this site for every story to be “impactful” you’re in the wrong place.
Besides, most normal people would call it “humor” or “satire”.

His career-high is said to be 28p. I’ve been looking for it for quite some time and still couldn’t find it. How I wish to witness it with my own eyes!

He actually scored 29 for the Nets against the Warriors on January 26, 2005. He started and played 40 minutes, and got his points on 12 of 17 shooting. He had a double-double with 10 boards, but missed his only 3-point attempt:

Amazingly, it was also the only time in 520 career games that he scored more than 20 in a game.

I don’t know what they did in other arenas, but when the C’s came to DC there was a group of fans who started a chant – Scal – a – bri – ni – every time he as much as touched the ball. No question a league legend.
