Charles Barkley almost fell asleep on Inside the NBA set (VIDEO)

Mar 14, 2014, 12:12 PM EST

This is what makes Inside the NBA on TNT great.

You can be sure some star almost fell asleep on the set of a Sunday morning football show this year, but they got him some coffee and kept it off the air. Not Inside the NBA. They show Charles Barkley nodding off and the guys rib him on air about it.

Of course, Barkley was right that both the TNT games were duds last night. The Bulls crushed a surprisingly lackadaisical Rockets team, then the Thunder/Lakers game seemed almost over from the opening tip. The only good game was the Hawks knocking off the Bucks, but you needed League Pass for that one. I’m sure Chuck knows somebody who can get him LP. And a Red Bull.

I hear the Lakers still have a few nationally televised games? smh.

The NBA really needs a clause in their TV contract like the one the NFL has that allows them to drop a dud game that may have looked good at schedule time for a now powerhouse matchup.

the idea is good of course but it wont work nearly as well because you know when nfl games are on. sunday. MNF and thurs are as well. on a thursday in the nba, 4-6 teams play. before the season, you bet on them being good matchups but if theyre not, they cant do anything about it. nba tv does a pretty good job anticipating upcoming games and scheduling them but tnt cant

anyone who has ever watched “open court” is not surprised in the least bit.

Chuck looks like he had to much Vodka before work last night…..still can’t figure out why the NBA can’t move the Lakers off these national televised games, they are killing the sport……

Whoa whoa whoa. Powerhouse matchup? According to this article, that was the bucks/hawks matchup. And who WOULDNT want to see that???? Dear God. How does Helin still have a job? And why hasn’t deadspin realized his talent and HIRED HIM ALREADY!

Shaq is hilarious, you just have to listen closely sometimes to understand what he is saying…..love them all best halftime show in sports….

    • azarkhan - Mar 14, 2014 at 4:13 PM

Shaq’s problem is he thinks he’s funnier than he really is, especially when he coins some silly nickname for a player. TNT should get rid of him.
