Tony Wroten drops Ray McCallum to the floor with the killer crossover (VIDEO)

Mar 13, 2014, 12:55 AM EDT

Normally posting video of one player dropping another with a crossover if it only leads to a missed shot is a bit gauche, but in this case, it’s worth making the exception.

Tony Wroten seems to mystify Kings rookie Ray McCallum here, and McCallum trips over himself trying to keep up. Again, Wroten should have converted the shot, but the ball-handling to get by his defender was something special — either that, or McCallum just needs to spend some time with a defensive coach.

Yes, go ahead and admire your work. Make sure next time to finish the job.
Just imagine how hard it is to defend some of these nba guards. Handles.

He absolutely should have finished that, but wow, that was one mean crossover.

that was garden variety crossover by nba standards and you have to finish

I know he missed this, but that was beautiful.
On the real, though, this kid is something. Following him since he was a high school prospect, finding a 6’6 guy with that kind of ball control and fluidity is something, as well as decent skills to run the offense. With his athleticism, put him in the right environment and he could be a star.

He’s one of the few NBA-caliber players on the team. Huge steal for them last offseason.

Him, Thad, MCW, and Noel (assuming all goes well with his rehab) coupled with our draft picks should be a great starting point.Considering MCW’s ability to defend on the perimeter & create turnovers, Thad’s overall defensive prowess (even when defending bigger 4’s), and Noel’s shot blocking ability, I think next year our D will improve vastly. Our offense has struggled at times but I’m not concerned about them going forward. Brett just needs to continue getting these guys to play well as a unit and we’ll catapult ourselves to Eastern Conference contention. It will take a lot to beat the Heat/Pacers, but we’ll get there eventually if we make the right moves.
