Jermaine O’Neal confronts Blake Griffin in hallway after Clippers-Warriors game

Mar 13, 2014, 10:15 AM EDT

Blake Griffin, David Lee

The Warriors and Clippers don’t like each other, but it seems the Warriors particularly dislike Blake Griffin.

Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut went after Griffin in December, and they successfully got the Clippers star ejected. Bogut even made a point not to apologize.

Add Jermaine O’Neal to the list of Warriors who’ve feuded with Griffin.

O’Neal got a technical foul for jawing with Griffin in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s Warriors-Clippers game, and O’Neal didn’t let the issue die there.

Arash Markazi of

Golden State Warriors forward Jermaine O’Neal confronted forward Blake Griffin in the hallway outside the Los Angeles Clippers’ locker room at Staples Center after L.A.’s 111-98 win Wednesday night.

The two had a heated conversation that was quickly broken up by a Clippers official who led Griffin to the adjacent news conference room.

O’Neal, 35, had dressed and was waiting outside the Clippers’ locker room to talk to Griffin.

Griffin, who was walking to the news conference room to take questions from reporters, could be heard telling O’Neal to “leave that s— on the court” before the two were separated and briefly shook hands.

Announcement: Pro Basketball Talk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $70,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Thursday night’s games. It’s $25 to join and first prize is $8,500. Starts at 7pm ET on Thursday. Here’s the FanDuel link.

Unfortunately, Wednesday was the last scheduled meeting between the Warriors and Clippers. But if the season ended today, they’d meet in a first-round series.

At this point, it’d be a shame if we don’t got a Warriors-Clippers playoff matchup.

It’d be a shame if someone proofread articles…..

    • spthegr8 - Mar 13, 2014 at 1:15 PM

As Z-Bo would say….. “He’s just Bluffin”. Out there selling Wolf tickets!!

  2. holleywood9 - Mar 13, 2014 at 10:51 AM

Everyone of them is littered with simple errors…

I can’t see why jermaine et al don’t like BG

    Golden state got dismantled
Blake pounded the ball down their collective throats
Blake threw monster dunks down their throats
    Blake played physical defense
Blake makes more money than the entire 2nd unit
Blake is a perennial All Star

Shall I continue? Plain and simple they suffer from insane jealousy as they will never reach his level.

    • kb2408 - Mar 13, 2014 at 11:28 AM

You took the words right out of my mouth. I just don’t get the dislike for this dude by some of his peers. Of course I’m not out on the court with him to know what goes on between the lines. Seems like a lot of jealousy to me. As a fan, I love Blake’s game. It’s just a shame he’s a clip and not a LAKER.

    • divan22 - Mar 13, 2014 at 11:49 AM

Yeah, Golden State’s just jealous of how far Blake’s taken the Clippers in the playoffs.

Oh wait. Warriors got to the 2nd Round last year while the Clippers were… well, the Clippers.

Gag on that. More comedy in the Clippers’ history books than there is in the rest of Los Angeles.

      • kb2408 - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:00 PM

So, they celebrate getting to the 2nd round in G. State? I see why they haven’t won a title since Jimmy Carter was in office. Or was it Ford? I forget….all I know for sure is, it was a long time ago. My point: it is funny that a G. State fan is clowning a Clip fan when we all know the only NBA franchise that really matters in Cali is the LAKERS.

      • zacksdad - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:16 PM

Well I would celebrate a 2nd round victory more than a First Division title ever. Clippers even hide all the Lakers banners to display their one division title.

Go Clippers, you will now have two banners to display. Lets see how far you get in the playoffs this year. I would guess the division title will be the only new banner they will have for next season.

      • dannymac17 - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:57 PM

        Thats cute divan.

the Clips played Memphis last year, the guys who played in the WCF.

Who did the Warriors play btw?

    • brooksroenisch - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:57 PM

Shall I continue? 2 first round flame outs in the playoff, and this team is considered elite? Warriors win in the postseason and the Clippers don’t. THAT’S WHAT REALLY MATTERS.

  4. bballhistorian - Mar 13, 2014 at 11:40 AM

Dream Playoff Matchups i would like to see this season (some of them):

    GS vs Clippers
    Rockets vs OKC
    Portland vs SA

    Miami vs Indiana (obviously)
    Brooklyn vs Chicago

  5. jerdogthompson - Mar 13, 2014 at 11:46 AM

Outside of KD & Lebron who would any responsible GM pick to build a team around?

    Blake Griffin that’s who.

    • kb2408 - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:01 PM

      Anthony Davis.

    • zacksdad - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:19 PM

Before CP3 got there after Stern handed them to Sterling, what direction were they going? Crappy owner, crappy coach, team of floppers (they still are), Griffin more worried about jumping over cars or getting on a highlight than winning, and still the stepsister to the Lakers.

    • aboogy123456 - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:29 PM

CP3 is the best player on the clippers

    • bhunter1995 - Mar 13, 2014 at 1:14 PM

I literally LOLed. Bigmen I would take over Blake

Anthony Davis (20-10-2BPG with massive potential)

And that’s just the Bigmen let alone

D Rose (if he comes back fully healthy)
      Paul George

  6. chargerdillon - Mar 13, 2014 at 11:50 AM

I like Blake a lot. Last playoffs he got completely out-muscled by the Grizzlies every which way.

As a Lakers fan I’ve always hated the Clipper but at the same time would be happy for them to win and I am happy to see their success in the face of embarrassment that is the current Lakers organization.

Blake has got to continue that physical play in the playoffs. Can’t just be a regular season hero.

  7. billtetley53 - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:29 PM

kb, its amazing how vicariously you live your life throughva basketball team.
Im positive your real world exsistance is a sad and pathetic place to be.

I am amazed though that you knew the Warriors had won a title in California.
Been brushing up on basketball history, so you don’t look half as foolish as you normally do?

  8. mogogo1 - Mar 13, 2014 at 12:44 PM

Instead of confronting him in hallways after the game next time they may want to try boxing him out during the game. That way the Internet wouldn’t explode with videos of them giving up huge put-back dunks where Griffin just cruises down the lane totally untouched.

  9. sportsnut101 - Mar 13, 2014 at 1:08 PM

people dont understand that blake punch sum1 in the game back because if he gets hurt clippers are done
so just keep doing ur high flying dunks on them and shut them up

let ur team mates handle it for u and u pay their fine

  10. losanginsight - Mar 13, 2014 at 1:24 PM

It’s beginning a nightly occurrence of Blake getting punked. This is why this team can’t make it part the second round of the playoffs. Everyone knows ding the regular season that the refs pull for certain teams. During a 7 game series Blake can’t get away with being scared. Look at how Zebo and Duncan have handled Blake in the playoffs. Bring a good regular season team doesn’t matter in the NBA. Doc only one 1 ring with better teams in Boston. Maybe the clippers will replace the selfie banners with 2nd round n out banners.

  11. readysethike - Mar 13, 2014 at 1:42 PM

Jermaine is way too old for that. I thought he matured after the melee at the palace

  12. andreboy1 - Mar 13, 2014 at 1:56 PM

    Blake is a punk

Don’t mess with an OG like JO

  13. kb2408 - Mar 13, 2014 at 3:02 PM

What’s even sadder than that, billbitely53, is how you live your life worrying about how I live MY life, sir. At least I am a true fan of one team and not the fan of a particular player. After KG retires what hotshot rookie are you gonna attach yourself to next? Fans live their lives vicariously through their fave teams. Have you ever seen Packer fans all dressed up in cheeseheads? How about Steeler fans in their black and gold waving their terrible towels? How about fans of “Da Bears”? You need to look up the definition of a sports fan, my friend. This site has true sports fans that love their teams and then it has trolls like you. Good day, sir. You are welcome for the education.

  14. Nostrils10 - Mar 13, 2014 at 3:39 PM

everyone is fed up with this big strong athletic dude flopping all over like a female… couldnt imagine being on the court with someone like that, oh wait i can because now when i try to go play some pickup ball below the rim everyone buying this soft nba is calling ticky tac fouls and flopping everywhere whining… nothin like the old school

    • sumkat - Mar 14, 2014 at 5:01 AM

you play blacktop and people flop, and it actually matters?

If you didn’t catch an elbow to the face, it’s not a charge, this isn’t the league, it’s pickup balls. Fouls are earned or they didn’t happen

    • chrisppers - Mar 16, 2014 at 3:35 PM

wait, how many flopping warnings has blake been handed down by the league? oh yeah, 0, good call, but u know more than the league office right?

  15. jkirby317 - Mar 13, 2014 at 4:15 PM

    who cares?

  16. campcouch - Mar 13, 2014 at 10:35 PM

BG is like that little brother who stabs you with a pen, then runs and tells mom that you’re picking on him. That’s why dudes hate him,it’s not jealousy…because he hasn’t accomplished anything. Bigs get tired of his flops, falls and takedowns…which are effective…and then throwing on that innocent face to the refs.

    • dannymac17 - Mar 13, 2014 at 10:57 PM

you are not very intelligent, i can assure you.

  17. sumkat - Mar 14, 2014 at 4:58 AM

Jermaine O’Neal is still in the league? Like, still getting paid?
