Blake Griffin with as powerful a putback dunk as you’ll see (VIDEO)

Mar 13, 2014, 9:13 AM EST

To quote Cartman: Respect my authoritah.

Blake Griffin basically said that with this dunk. He has broadened his game this season, adding a far more consistent jump shot to go with handles and improved defense (which he showed off all night on the pick-and-roll against Stephen Curry), but the man can still dunk. With authoritah. As he did off a Danny Granger miss Wednesday night.

Griffin ended the night with 30 points and the Clippers pulled away late in the third and early in the fourth quarter to beat the Warriors 111-98. That’s 9 straight wins for the Clippers, who are looking like a real playoff threat the way they are defending now.

In Ralph Lawlers defense dude is like 70 something and back in his day that was probably a supreme top of the line compliment.

But you are correct, a 2014 nickname is in order.

I’ve always thought Hancock, like the Will Smith movie, would be a good nickname. At least it suits him. He’s built like a beast and can jump out of the building.

    That’s how you sell Kias.

Blake is one of the freakiest freaks to ever play in the NBA. The dude is a Shawn Kemp with the body of the Mailman. The slim version of Kemp, not the fat version.

    • erking1991 - Mar 13, 2014 at 2:22 PM

Too bad he’ll never develop any good post skills.

      • mytthor - Mar 14, 2014 at 2:08 AM

I’m usually the first one talking about Blake being overrated and not a true superstar yet, but your argument is about a year late. He’s really improved a lot last year and this one.

    • mytthor - Mar 14, 2014 at 2:11 AM

Have you ever even seen those 3 guys bodies? Mailman was solid muscle. Blake’s body is a lot closer to an in-his-prime Kemp than to Malone. I’ve been saying the Blake-Kemp comparison for years. If Blake develops the 18 footer like Kemp did when he really turned the corner and they made the finals, he’ll be a top-5 player (if he maintains his improved rebounding this year – that’s also not where you’d like it on a guy that athletic).
