Players react on twitter to LeBron dropping 61

Mar 4, 2014, 12:01 PM EDT

LeBron James dropping 61 on the Bobcats — a good defensive team, seventh best in the NBA this season, a team that held Kevin Durant to 8-of-24 shooting just nights before, but the squad that has given up the last three games of 55 points or more by a player — has been the talk of the NBA.

That includes other athletes, who took to twitter.

    Battier’s tweet is hilarious haha

Melo tweeted: I scored 62 against them and only played a little over 3 quarters.

Melo tweeted again: Oh wait, I did it in 39 minutes and LeBron did it in 41 minutes with 5 assists (I had 0). My bad for raining on The King’s parade.

Last 9 points vs Bobcats bench in garbage time.

Lebron then Tweeted: See you in the playoffs…..o wait

Can PBT get off of James’ jock for a day or two, at some point? Just to see what’s it’s like?

    • soflasfinest - Mar 4, 2014 at 1:35 PM

When he’s putting up numbers like that and a month like has has even prior to the all star you just want them to ignore it? Instead of hating just be glad you’re able to see an athlete like him in your lifetime. If you’re a fan of bball you should be happy for him. If not don’t click his links or just go to another site. Period.

you DO realize when you click on the link and then add a comment, it adds fuel to the fire right? whether you come to praise or to downplay..all the company sees is that someone clicked the link and it means that person wants to see more lol.

I lost count at 7 or 8 fascinating Lebron entries. All this for a guy that probably won’t win MVP.

  4. reesesteel23 - Mar 4, 2014 at 1:37 PM

How ridiculous would it be for a Professional Basketball site to stop talking about the best Professional Basketball player on the planet…..lol

I’m surprised of 2 things in all of this: That Lebron has never scored more than 60 before this game and that Wade didn’t hold the Heat scoring record before Lebron!

    • miamatt - Mar 4, 2014 at 7:59 PM

Wade had scored 55 a few years back, but G-money’s 56 record had stood since a mid-April matchup against Shaq’s Orlando Magic in 1995. Man, that seems like such a long time ago…
