LeBron James went with black, full face mask that is psuedo nod to Bane. I guess.

If you had “full face and black” in your office “what mask will LeBron James wear pool”…. well, I’d be a little worried about how much your office gambles. But you’d win.

LeBron had a stylish (I guess) black carbon fiber mask, where he thinks he went Bane, but as noted at The Big Lead this looked more Hannibal Lector. Or he looks like Kobe Bryant in a mask last year.

Either way it doesn’t seem to be slowing him much — LeBron had 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting to start the game as the Heat held a comfortable double-digit lead over the Knicks in the first half (as of the time of this writing). The real star for Miami was Dwyane Wade, who showed up healthy and sharp like he did against Oklahoma City. The Heat have exposed the Knicks transition defense, although to be fair the Knicks have played with good energy in this game.

We’ll have more on this game after it ends.

It’s 2014. I thought we were past black face.

  5. obmig - Feb 27, 2014 at 10:04 PM

For a guy who would get all the attention anyways, he sure is desperate for it. Not one days goes by where he doesn’t do something to try and garner more media coverage for himself.

    • hatesofties - Feb 27, 2014 at 10:13 PM

So, you are saying he went and had Ibaka break his nose so he could get some media attention? Or the fact he has a black mask? Is there a colour of face mask he could have worn that wouldn’t have generated your stupid comment?

      • blackman24 - Feb 27, 2014 at 10:47 PM

Yeah, a plain clear mask would of been fine, but we all know Lebron is an attention whore. They will talk about the mask all weekend and come up with some silly nickname for him.

      • obmig - Feb 27, 2014 at 11:09 PM

No I didn’t say he had Ibaka break his nose. If that’s what you got from my comment you should go back to school. It’s all about his tweets with the bane mask, his letter to his father, his dunk exhibitions after practice even though he won’t do the contest, his talk about how he’s the mvp, his talk about how he’s the best defender. When you are the best player in the world you don’t need to beg for attention, you will get it. Do you miss all this somehow and then still come on the chat board to make dumb comments?

    • fanofthegame79 - Feb 28, 2014 at 12:00 AM

They wore their black jerseys tonight, so it was fitting (matching?) for LeBron to wear a black mask. What if he wears a clear mask when they wear their white jerseys? His tweet about the Bane mask was for fun. Tweets are supposed to be fun: Durant just gave himself a new nickname via Twitter (The Servant). The MVP and best defender quotes came from questions asked by reporters. As for the dunk exhibitions during their practices, I bet they do all kinds of strange things during their practices (crazy shooting, dribbling, etc.) but because it’s LeBron, and people of all kinds will talk about it, they show it on ESPN. So I’m not sure how that’s begging for attention.

yo, obmig, you clearly don’t know how ppl in the spotlight operate. that’s not being desperate for attention. that’s called self-promotion and marketing. the type of stuff that keeps one RELEVANT and keeps one GETTING PAID. and before u say “let your game alone do the talking”, that would only make LeBron one-dimensional. so you’re basically attempting to crucify LeBron for having a personality and continuing to market himself… good thing YOU’RE NOT any form of representation for Mr James, or else that would be a lot less money for him therefore no 10-15% cut for u.

I’m taking a little coffee break cantonjerk0 so I thought I’d check and see how you were enjoying the game. So how you enjoying the game jerkie?

  7. namriverrat69 - Feb 27, 2014 at 10:17 PM

He is a little kid in a man’s body who doesn’t want to grow up. He thrives on the spotlight. Great talent but unquenchable ego. Sort of like an older Justin Beiber, without all the sex and drugs of course. Wait a second, you take away the sex and drugs and there’s a Bieber with no talent.

The Black Mamba couldn’t hack the black veil – it being too powerful for a mortal to wield. LeBron, on the other hand, having descended from the heavens, was able to don the mythical exomask with aplomb.

    • blackman24 - Feb 28, 2014 at 4:14 AM

      Trying to hard brah.

    • asimonetti88 - Feb 28, 2014 at 11:11 AM

lol, can’t even read a story about the Heat without getting a hardon for Kobe.

Who said anything about James Harden?

WHAT THEf iS BANE!!!!???? This is like the 3rd reference I’ve read on this site about Bane.

  12. 1heatedtoombrayduh - Feb 28, 2014 at 7:17 AM

    looks more like batman

  13. sixerstrong - Feb 28, 2014 at 8:39 AM

Bane? Come on. I thought it was pretty clear that he was going for a Zorro look. Bane’s contraption is the exact opposite of what LJ was wearing.

  14. belleby123 - Feb 28, 2014 at 8:58 AM

I don’t see how something like that is even allowed in the NBA. Can it be the Lebron is getting preferential treatment? Like he does from the refs? Couldn’t be!

  15. southbeachtalent - Feb 28, 2014 at 9:59 AM

So you dummies are complaining about the attention he and his mask got by……giving him attention.

Always great to pound on the sorry ass Knicks.
