Anthony Davis goes off the wall for dunk, says “put me in the dunk contest”

Feb 11, 2014, 6:16 PM EDT

I wish they had put Anthony Davis in the dunk contest (although the lineup they have with Paul George, Damian Lillard, John Wall, Terrence Rose et al is quite good).

Better yet, Adam Silver put Davis in the main game on Sunday (where he should be considered a dark horse MVP candidate as the hometown guy. He could have a monster game. The best part of All-Star weekend is watching the young players get their chance and Davis, Lillard, George really add some flavor to the game in New Orleans this Sunday.

Why can’t Silver put him in, I know the list has already been decided but is there a limit on the number of contestants? Maybe that’ll nudge LeBron to do the same.

Lebron will make a comment that’s he’s considering joining. Media will blow up for two days talking about the possibilities. Lebron ultimately doesn’t join dunk contest.

      Same pattern every year.

Seems weird that he wasn’t invited. He seems like more of a dunker than Lillard

I love how a bunch of 60-year old, gray-haired lawyers and accountants sit around deciding important things, like who gets to be in the dunk contest.

    What a country.

If Anthony Davis wants to be in the dunk contest, he should just walk in the arena that day and dunk. Who the hell is going to stop him? Is Adam Silver going to stand under the basket and try to block him?

Taking a little kids’ playground game and turning it into a multi-billion dollar industry really sucks the life out of it sometimes.
