Steve Nash, 40 years old, crosses up Evan Turner for the layup (VIDEO)

Feb 8, 2014, 12:13 AM EDT

Steve Nash celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday, and scored a game-high 19 points in helping the Lakers to a double-digit win over the Sixers.

And despite the fact that Evan Turner was an All-Star last season, the 25-year old was taken to school by the elder Nash on this play, which saw the Lakers point guard use a crossover move to lose Turner on the way to the basket for the uncontested two points.

A 40 year old Canadian schooling a 25 year old black dude. Can’t make this shiet up. I love Nash.

      “Where amazing happens.”

    Evan Turner was an All-Star???

    • jimmerg31385 - Feb 8, 2014 at 1:52 AM

He was not. Jrue Holiday was

    • savvybynature - Feb 8, 2014 at 2:59 AM

Wow. I knew the East was bad, but this makes me reconsider how bad.

    • asimonetti88 - Feb 8, 2014 at 3:15 AM

      no, he wasn’t

I miss Nash in his prime, that Phoenix team was fun.

    • money2long - Feb 8, 2014 at 12:56 AM

Remember his long hair too ? Miss that as well

      • sportsfan18 - Feb 8, 2014 at 2:04 AM

A man’s hair should be high and tight.

When did Evan Turner make the All Star team?

  5. antistratfordian - Feb 8, 2014 at 12:47 AM

Evan Turner was not an All-Star last season.

  6. jerdogthompson - Feb 8, 2014 at 1:06 AM

Hats off to old man time.

  7. cbking05 - Feb 8, 2014 at 1:13 AM

Despite the fact …Evan Turner was an all star…the Internet never lies!

  8. sumkat - Feb 8, 2014 at 1:52 AM

Holiday was an all-star for philly last year

Turner has never sniffed an all-star game. I’m not even sure they’d let him in with a ticket

  9. dliwsrekoj - Feb 8, 2014 at 2:34 AM

Nash would have won a championship with Dallas if he would have taken less money.

  10. dliwsrekoj - Feb 8, 2014 at 2:35 AM

Nash would have won a championship with Dallas if he would have taken less money. But it is what it is. Great point guard who will probably will never win a championship given the roster he was put in. He should have just gone to the Heat and played off the Bench.

Cuban could’ve matched and the CBA wasn’t near as restrictive as it is now. Blame him if you’re gonna blame anyone.

Keep winning lakers, the less ping pong balls you have, the better…

    • ranfan12 - Feb 8, 2014 at 4:21 PM

what do you mean keep winning? the last 2 win streak they had was in the earlier part of january

    • kb2408 - Feb 8, 2014 at 5:19 PM

@billbitely53, the LAKERS will secure a top 3 pick.

      • kb2408 - Feb 8, 2014 at 5:22 PM

        Nash should’ve been a LAKER back in the Kobe/Shaq Era….we would’ve won not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6 but 7 titles!!

    • asimonetti88 - Feb 9, 2014 at 1:56 PM

Last time I checked, the point of playing was to WIN.

  12. lakerade - Feb 8, 2014 at 1:51 PM

    A behind-the-back crossover, no less.

  13. billtetley53 - Feb 8, 2014 at 5:46 PM

Kinda like how you predicted the Lakers being in the finals when they got Howard, right?

Your crystal ball is cracked. You are also an ignorant know nothing. Thts not a good combo, 3 coiler.

    • kb2408 - Feb 8, 2014 at 7:52 PM

I liked you better as pudhummer53. Or kobeluver. On second thought, no I didn’t.

    • kb2408 - Feb 8, 2014 at 7:56 PM

And, as I recall, @billbitely53, you said if the LAKERS got both D12 and Nash they would “win” the title. But, of course, you will deny it.

  14. mungman69 - Feb 8, 2014 at 10:05 PM

Nash should not be allowed to play in the NBA. He is too old.
