Reporter asks question that makes Dwight Howard feign sleep rather than answering

Jan 7, 2014, 11:58 AM EDT

The Houston Rockets play the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, and that means Dwight Howard is going to be asked about facing his old team. And asked. And asked.

So, rather than given a cliché answer, Howard perfectly explains what he thinks with a great non-verbal response.

Even after Howard “wakes up,” he holds his hand over his face, clearly dreading the pending discussion he surely knew was coming. For Howard, it’s a tired subject. (Though, for the rest of us, there’s still intrigue, which is why the inquiries won’t end anytime soon.)

But as funny as Howard was, I still think Troy Barnes does it better:

    “Though, for the rest of us, there’s still intrigue, which is why the inquiries won’t end anytime soon.” – oh man! Dan, please just move on! I bet some of the lakers fan already did, as well as the magic’s, but saying that there’s still intrigue? puhhleeezzzz!

    Isn’t he always asleep?

    Over the years I’ve noticed Dwight’s comedic timing is awful. From laughing at his own jokes in dunk contests, to missing the mark on several joke attempts that had some potential, I just can’t stand watching him try to be funny. I’m not sure why he gets me so mad. I really get worked up about this. I think I need a nap.

    @peter
    About the nap thing….not funny
