Stephen Curry drops 36 and 12 on Miami Heat (VIDEO)

Jan 3, 2014, 11:39 AM EDT

When Stephen Curry is feeling it there is no more entertaining player to watch in the NBA — and he was feeling it Thursday night in Miami.

Curry led the Warriors against the defending champs and with his quick release, ability to shoot off the bounce and good court vision he just destroyed what has been a Top 10 defense the Heat have put on the court this season. Early on Miami wasn’t defending him with enough urgency and he made them pay, by the time they picked it up it was too late and he was feeling it. LeBron James was in front of him, Dwyane Wade was in his hip pocket and it just didn’t matter.

Curry put on a show in Miami.

I don’t watch GS all that often..why do they not have a better record? On paper they look like a contender…and certainly did last night.

Because those were mostly bad shots that went in.

This is true though^^ . But Curry is a shot maker (good/bad) and Mark Jackson gives him the green light. So, technically they’re not bad shots :)

Look closer and they really didn’t look like a contender last night. They looked like a classic case of a team that relies too much on threes – and bad threes in Curry’s case – and won because they made more of them. That’s probably why they don’t have a better record.

I’d say, in general, relying on a player like Steph Curry to be your primary scorer is always going to be an up and down ride.

They are 16-3 when they have their starting line up, so they are better than their record

The splash brothers were on point, incredible display of shooting. David Lee also had a monster night.

looks like the curry was too spicy even for the ‘heat’ to handle.

I see what you’re trying to do. Great job.

As I’ve stated before on this site, there is NOTHING more enjoyable in sports than when a great shooter/scorer is in “the zone”. Curry, along with Durant, are the most fun players to watch in the league.

If you’re super cheap like me and only buy the 5 team league pass and you didnt pick GS, you’re missing out. Thanks for the highlights, from a West Coast transplant living in Boston praying for Rondo to return so i can go back to catching 30-40 games a year.

GSW understand how to beat the Heat. Shoot a ton of shots and make every one of them while at the same time get LeBron to turn the ball over 7 times. Easy peasy.

Seriously though, that was one you tip your hat and say “good game”. On to the next one.
