DeMarcus Cousins goes coast-to-coast for the slam (VIDEO)

Jan 1, 2014, 1:13 AM EST

Sacramento picked up a big New Year’s Eve win over Houston thanks to strong offensive night — Rudy Gay had 25 points and continues to be efficient since the trade, and he was one of five Kings in double figures.

Then there was DeMarcus Cousins — 17 points, 16 rebounds and this coast-to-coast dunk. That is the way to start the new year (well, it wasn’t yet where he was playing, but I get the idea).

There are just not big men around with Cousins’ skill set, guys who can go coast-to-coast like him.

I’m looking forward to this guys career. He has a great chance at becoming amazing. I hope he reaches his potential.

      Run DMC!

I love watching him play. 7ft point guard right there with big man skills.

Most talented guy larger than Lebron.

Former team-mates Harden and Durant each went 12 of 26 from the field and got to the line ten and twelve times for 38 and 37 points, respectively. The Rockets had 16 assists, the Thunder 15. Both teams lost.

    Seriously though…this guy. So beast.

Nice to see. But, lots of big men can do that if absolutely nobody is guarding them. Casspi should be ashamed of himself for that back pedaling effort.

Really Kurt. This is what you chose to be the first post of 2014 (after having a great final post of 2013) ?

You could have given us a “What to expect in 2014″, “Things to watch in 2014″ or something like that.

No, I did not watch the video before posting this.

I will never forgive the Sixers for taking Evan Turner over Cousins.
