Pistons’ coach Mo Cheeks takes a seat with fans (VIDEO)

Dec 31, 2013, 1:10 PM EDT

If I were Maurice Cheeks and I had to watch the way the Pistons played last night, I might have tried to watch the game from the 400 level seats, not the front row.

That said Cheeks sat down with a couple of fans in the front row — and the best part of this is how uncomfortable these ladies are. They have no idea what to do or say and it is awkwardly painful. And funny.

Hat tip to Lang at All Ball, who would have offered Mo Cheeks a swig of his beer in that same situation.

They might have heard about the domestic violence stuff last summer.

Their reaction is of pure indifference, comparable to the indifference they probably show toward the game itself. I know this is pure jealousy on my part, and I can’t say for certain what their level of interest is in the game they’re at, but it pains me to see such “non-fans” sitting court side, often buried in their cell phones, when I myself would get such indescribable pleasure witnessing a game from such a vantage point. Also, if Mo Cheeks happened to pop a squat next to me, I would HAVE to take that opportunity to interact with him in some way…instead of sitting awkwardly still as if an NBA coach IS NOT right next to me.
