Lakers say Xavier Henry will miss at least 7-10 days with right knee bone bruise

The amount of injuries befalling the Lakers this season is almost reaching comical proportions, especially to players charged with handling some of the point guard duties.

Steve Nash, Steve Blake and Kobe Bryant are all out for varying time periods, and Jordan Farmar, who just returned from a hamstring injury, was held out of Monday’s practice after experiencing some tightness.

Xavier Henry is the latest player to go down. After leaving in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Sixers, an MRI revealed a bone bruise to his right knee and an abnormality of the lateral meniscus which will keep him out a minimum of 7-10 days.

Henry has largely played well as a reserve in Mike D’Antoni’s system, and is averaging 10.1 points in 21.8 minutes per game this season. Kendall Marshall, who was recently signed from the D-League after being waived by the Wizards in the trade that sent Marcin Gortat from Phoenix to Washington, is likely to get a bump in minutes at the backup point guard position.
