We saw what the Knicks looked like without Carmelo Anthony… and it wasn’t pretty.

The Knicks are hoping not to see it again this weekend in a back-to-back against Atlantic Division leading Toronto (that is a strange phrase to type).

Knicks coach Mike Woodson gave this update on Anthony heading into the Friday/Saturday home-and-home the Raptors, via the Knicks team Web site.

“Still day-to-day, we’ll see where he is tomorrow and evaluate him from there. He’s day-to-day…

“We’ll have a better feel tomorrow based on his treatment, he didn’t do anything on the floor today, just basically got treatment… if he says he’s ready to go, we’ll put him in uniform and play him.”

Announcement: Pro Basketball Talk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $30,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Thursday night’s games. It’s $25 to join and first prize is $5,000. Starts at 7pm ET on Thursday. Here’s the FanDuel link.

For all the problems to start the season — and the Internet isn’t big enough to list them all — the Knicks are just three games back of the division lead. The idea they could come back and win the division is not out of the question. But that’s not going to happen without Carmelo Anthony and without beating teams like the Raptors. Consistently.

We saw what the Knicks looked like without Carmelo Anthony… and it wasn’t pretty.

NOW CAN THE HATERS STOP COMPLAINING when looking at the box scores and seeing melo take the shots he does , please….

Well, when one actually does look at the box scores (& I mean each one after every game) they will notice that so many times Melo’s shooting brought the Knicks team shooting percentage down.

Now all players have off shooting nights but so many times the rest of the Knicks shoot better as a team than Melo does.

I mean last season, Melo’s FG% was the teams FG% so it’s easy to see that on average, he brought the teams shooting percentage down in a lot of the games.

Melo is doing a tad better so far this yr as he’s at .447% and the team is at .430%

The reality is that Melo isn’t a very good shooter overall. He’s a high volume scorer who scores a lot because he shoots a lot.

melo is the focus. i wonder if melo’s percentage would increase by whatever percentage had he had wade on his team. hm. i wonder.

“Melo is doing a tad better so far this yr as he’s at .447% and the team is at .430%. “

Wrong again buddy. Last season Melo shot .449% and the team shot .448%….that makes Melo & the Knicks tad worst this year….not better. Oh, & on Christmas day they shot .422% by the way.

The reality is overall your just a Melo hater who takes every opportunity to post worthless stats disguised as “facts”. Since you love stats so much here’s a link that I know you’ll just hate by a guy who actually knows what he’s talking about.

Knicks had a good thing going last year. The big question is can they get back to where they were and the answer’s NOT without Melo. Captain Obvious over and out.
