Hawks’ Jeff Teague drains double OT game winner to sink Cavs (VIDEO)

Dec 26, 2013, 11:36 PM EDT

Jeff Teague everyone.

The Hawks point guard came off a massive double, elevator-style screen to get a clean look at a three that beat the Cavaliers 127-125 Thursday night.

Kyrie Irving had 40 points and 9 dimes in this one, but Teague’s shot is thee one you’ll be talking about.

Maybe I’m missing something, but he hangs out well past the 3-point line, starts to walk it up with about 2 seconds left, fakes a drive, then when the defender bites on that, pulls up and shoots a regular field goal about 5 feet inside the arc.

I see no screen, let alone an elevator screen, and no 3 pointer here. Or are you talking about a different play?

He’s talking about the shot to send it to double OT. Yeah, he hit the game winner too. Teague wasn’t playing around.

      Typical sloppy PBT reporting.

He’s the MIP, Most Improved Player. He’s always been solid, but he’s playing at an all star level this year.

Not really. He’s improved defensively (which isn’t saying much because he was dreadful on defense last year) and gotten less efficient on offense.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a nice young piece with a lot of room to grow for that franchise, but his improvement hasn’t been significant this year and I don’t think he’s playing at an all-star level. His assist:turnover ratio is lower than last year and his eFG% is only 45%.

Last year was his big improvement year.
