Victor Oladipo with the chasedown block on Trey Burke (VIDEO)

Dec 19, 2013, 9:31 AM EDT

The Jazz won an ugly one against a Magic team playing without Arron Afflalo on Wednesday, and Trey Burke thoroughly outplayed fellow rookie Victor Oladipo in the process.

Burke finished with a career high 30 points, while Oladipo managed just three on 1-of-12 shooting in 36 minutes of action. But Orlando likes Oladipo for his overall athleticism and playmaking abilities, along with the fact that he brings the effort on the defensive end on a nightly basis.

After getting the ball poked away from Burke early on, Oladipo didn’t give up on the play, and chased down his opponent in time to come up with the rejection.

Hard to see how Oladipo deserves a highlight after the tough night he had. The play wasn’t very special, and he knocked the ball out of bounds so the Magic didn’t even regain possession.

Classic move showing this play. What no vid of Burke torch Vic-0 for 30-8-7-1,or Vic-0 going 1-12. No EAST COAST BIAS HERE!!!!

Play wasn’t special? You try to chase down someone who has a head start and block the shot without fouling him.
He had a VERY rough night shooting, but he’s shown that he can make an impact even when he’s struggling with his jumper and that IS special.

Oladipo is 6’5 and a freakish Dwyane Wade-like athlete. Burke is 6’0 tall and not nearly the same level athlete.

    It’s not that special.
