Nuggets’ Jordan Hamilton suspended one game for punch to Thunder’s Adams (VIDEO)

Dec 18, 2013, 4:19 PM EDT

We told you Jordan Hamilton would be sitting out for this when it went down.

Denver’s Hamilton has been suspended one game by the league for throwing this punch, striking the Thunder’s Steven Adams, the league announced Wednesday. Hamilton will sit Friday when the Nuggets play the Suns.

The incident took place at the start of the fourth quarter of the Thunder’s win Tuesday night. After a missed Nuggets shot OKC grabbed the rebound and started back up court when Adams set a little screen/bumped into Hamilton and Hamilton responded with a closed right hand to Adam’s chest. You could tell Hamilton tried to pull back on the move made out of frustration, but the punch connected, even if it wasn’t with much force.

That will get you a night away from your teammates.

Steven Adams is a pest. He makes those really hard and borderline dirty, yet legal plays on defense and while setting screens that really piss you off as an opponent and make you do retaliate in the heat of the moment.

Hamilton does not deserve to get suspended, maybe a small fine for a punch. The NBA is policing players so much that its turning into a p****y league. What a shame.

    Can’t stand Steven Adams already.

I’m OK with Steven bumping him. That’s a good play to slow him down. But, it’s still a bad call that’s going to cost Hamilton money, and he didn’t deserve to lose money. Are we allowed to ask what’s the name of that ref?

Steven Adams plays just like Meyers Leanord. I can’t wait until he also gets an elbow to the face.
