Minnesota’s Corey Brewer fined $5,000 for flopping (VIDEO)

Dec 9, 2013, 3:15 PM EDT

Minnesota’s Corey Brewer, you’re the next contestant on “pay some money to NBA Charities for flopping!”

The league announced Monday that Brewer has been fined $5,000 for his second flopping offense of the season. His first came against the Knicks earlier in the year, this new one was against the Heat on Saturday, when he was in going for a rebound and oversold some contact with LeBron James order to draw a call. You can see it above.

Brewer joins James Harden as the other NBA player fined for flopping this season — if either of them do it again the fine jumps up to $10,000. A host of other players including Chris Paul have gotten warnings for flopping (the fine comes on the second offense).

No, this slap-on-the-wrist fine is not going to stop flopping, David Stern said as much last season. But the owners decided to keep the fines at this level so here we are.

Brewer is averaging a career high 14 points a game, benefiting from the fast pace in Minnesota (and Kevin Love‘s outlet passes).
