NBA welcomes Kobe back with montage of him over the years (VIDEO)

Dec 8, 2013, 5:00 PM EDT

Kobe Bryant will make his return Sunday night at home against the Raptors, his first on-court appearance since suffering a torn Achilles near the end of last season.

While we don’t expect the same kind of heroics Bryant displayed in last season’s epic victory over Toronto, it’ll simply be good to see one of the game’s all-time best players return to action.

    Worst montage literally ever.

As a Lakers fan who grew up with Kobe playing the last 18 years as a Laker, I found the montage to be beautiful. It reminded me of Kobe’s year to year dedication, excellence, consistency, and his transformation of youth to man right before our very eyes. Whether you like it or not, Kobe is a legend in the game and a fixture in the annals of NBA history of greatest players ever.

The only thing accurate in your 4 word comment was that it was indeed a montage.

Now THAT’s a free throw routine! Consistency and rhythm over 17+ years.

What a great day of sports. A couple of awesome NFL games this morning, a big 49ers/Seahawks matchup now and Kobe’s return later!

How heartwarming! But they should have ended with: “Don’t cry for Kobe. He just signed a two-year contract that pays him $48,000,000 dollars.”
