Kevin Garnett and Andrea Bargnani get tangled up, receive double technicals (VIDEO)

Dec 5, 2013, 10:38 PM EDT

NEW YORK – The Knicks ended their nine-game losing streak with a blowout win over the Nets in Brooklyn, and early in the fourth with the game already decided Kevin Garnett and Andrea Bargnani got into a brief scuffle that resulted in both players being assessed technical fouls.

Garnett is normally the one to blame in these situations, and initially that seemed to be the case here. Standing over another player preventing him from getting up off the floor is a passive aggressive move, and Bargnani was right not to take to kindly to Garnett’s action.

But Bargnani wasn’t innocent here, holding Garnett’s jersey as he fell which caused Garnett to do the same.

Players from both teams stepped in quickly (as did the officials), and there was nothing more to see — until a short time later when Bargnani may have had words for Garnett after hitting a long two-pointer that pushed the lead to 30. Bargnani said afterward he did nothing to earn the ejection, but referee Joey Crawford apparently believed there was some taunting going on and he didn’t want things to escalate.

Garnett was asked afterward what Bargnani said to him to earn the ejection.

“I don’t speak Italian,” Garnett said.

Bravo, Garnett. You are a winner with that comment. Leave the trash talk on the floor you dirt ball. A thug, a punk, a guy not worthy of his God given gift.

Im so tired of watching KG all his career, he start something and backs out right when the fight is about to start. This guy is all talk but when it comes down to it, he backs out. #Truth. Please man up dude.

I agree, KG is a fake tough guy, wouldn’t mind someone calling his bluff and just knocking him the FO.

Joey Crawford is a idiot, he threw out Bargnani for what and he called two consecutive bull sheet fouls on JR Smith, he should just retire.

I’ve been watching the NBA for over 30 years, and KG is by FAR the biggest fugazi I’ve seen in all that time.

I’m surprised that he picked on someone taller than 6’5″. The last time he did that, Raptor Matt Bonner clocked him.

      • pharohislife - Dec 6, 2013 at 2:04 PM

Nah actually the last time he did it was to the 6’7 Carmelo Anthony, and before that it was Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan, and before that it was Al Jefferson, and before that it was Kevin Love, before that it was Mikael Pietrus amd Channing Frye, prior to that it was Dwight Howard all exceed the height of 6’5.

Yall say KG starts a fight then back out of it but yall are missing the point. He doesn’t do in order to get into fight come on now that doesn’t even make any sense, don’t you think he would be doing it for a reason. Well he is, it’s a strategy to throw the opposition off their game, get under their skin, and if they want to fight him after word even better for him. Cause he did his job and now they get ejected/suspended. It worked on Melo right..HORRIBLE game and a suspension. Trash talk guys its apart of basketball.

lmao it kills me when ball players try to act like tough guys…unless its MWP

Garnett is such a bad actor. He holds his arms up as if to show his innocence even as he does it while going up to Bargnani’s chest.

    • fanofevilempire - Dec 6, 2013 at 7:58 AM

and Joey Crawford was buying it, the worst ref ever.

Since the Nets are depleted and in a tailspin, maybe KG should concentrate more on increasing his production a bit.

    • fanofevilempire - Dec 6, 2013 at 7:56 AM

he’s maxed out, he is finished and so is Pierce.

Before making the judgment why don’t you watch the game. Bargnani was getting pushed unnecessary contact from Garnett all night long. Did he pull Garnetts jersey or was he trying to ease his fall. Garnett should have gotten tossed just for the act of standing over Bargnani in that fashion.

Typical KG picking on a Euro, let’s seem him mix it up with a Jason Maxiell or a Derek Favors oh right wouldn’t happen because Kevin Garnott is a pussy without the hair

I didn’t see the game, only this vid.
I don’t know why you guys are on KG’s case, I saw Bargnani as the cause for this one particular incident.
He definitely dragged KG to the ground.
