Orlando’s Arron Afflalo drops 43 in loss to Philly (VIDEO)

Dec 4, 2013, 8:43 AM EDT

The night before Paul George did the same thing for the Pacers, this time it was Arron Afflalo — scoring 43 points in a losing effort.

Afflalo was overshadowed by the two rookies notching triple-doubles (Michael Carter-Williams, Victor Oladipo) but this was a career high for the former UCLA star. He had 14 in the first quarter and as the game climbed toward 2OT it was Afflalo that helped keep the Magic in it.

This season Afflalo is posting career highs in PER (20.7), points (21.4), rebounds (4.4), assists (4.4) and three-point percentage (48.1%). He’s a fantastic pure shooter from deep who also will post up a smaller guards used on him. Afflalo has been trade bait this season (part of Orlando’s rebuilding efforts) and you have to think a few teams are looking at games like this and thinking “we could use a guy like that.”

Why is it on every Mock Draft I read, the Orlando Magic are “Trying” and Sixers are “Tanking” How would trading Afflalo be qualified as rebuilding or “trying” and not tanking!

Some of the crap out there is just BULL

He’s a true shooting guard and every contending team should want him. He doesn’t need the ball in his hands to score and for a point guard heavy league that is a god-send. He runs off screens real well and can shoot the rock. As Kurt said, he’s also good in the post. He’s also been a good defender for his career. He’s not going to be a superstar in this league, but he has just about everything else you could want. Indiana would be a good spot for him. Trade Granger and his expiring contract plus a pick and/or prospects to Orlando For Afflalo. That allows George to stay at the three, moves Stephenson to the bench where he’ll have more leeway with his crazy jumpers, and you insert a scorer who doesn’t need to dominate the ball between Hill the point guard and George the playmaker.

What are you talking about? The Magic are tanking and everybody knows it, stop reading mock drafts done by children.

If I were the bulls and rose were healthy I’d make a run at him. I’ve always been a fan of his game. Rose, Afflalo, Butler, Gibson and Noah aint bad

Are you trading Deng and Boozer for him? Because I don’t think the Magic would take that
