Wes Johnson gets up for the reverse slam on Paul Pierce (VIDEO)

Nov 27, 2013, 9:42 PM EDT

The Lakers’ Wesley Johnson is as athletic as they come, and he got the opportunity to put some of that skill on display in the first quarter against the Nets on Wednesday.

While Paul Pierce ultimately ends up on the poster here, to be fair to him his decision to contest came when it was far too late — Johnson was already in the air and on his way to the other side of the rim by the time Pierce was able to recover and make an ill-fated attempt to defend the play.

Up by 27 only to squeak out a win against the hapless nets. If there is such a thing as a bad win I think this game fits the bill.

A win is a win. Heck, they even survived the Nets pathetic coach cheating to get an extra timeout at the end. Stay classy J Kidd.

At .500 and really messing with your relentless “Lakers suck” narrative, aren’t they?

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. A win is a win is a win. I will take it, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.

I know this team isn’t great but man they’re fun to watch.
