Marcin Gortat hulks up and rips towel in half (VIDEO)

The frustrations in Washington are beginning to set in. Despite having one of the most talented starting lineups in the Eastern Conference, the Wizards have completely stumbled out of the gates this season.

On Friday night against the Toronto Raptors, the Wizards battled back from a 16-point deficit behind John Wall, but faltered down the stretch to put their record at just 4-8 this season.

While surely it’s tough on everyone in the locker room, the poor start might be hitting Marcin Gortat the hardest. After dubbing the Phoenix Suns a “sinking ship” last season and generally looking miserable for most of last year, Gortat had to be looking forward to playing for a legitimate playoff contender once again.

That certainly isn’t out of the question, particularly with the shaky state of the Eastern Conference, but it must be frustrating to see Phoenix rattle off wins while his team struggles.

When an average-sized human loses his cool and needs to take his frustration out on an inanimate object, maybe they go punch a pillow a few times. But when Gortat gets angry, things like this happen:

It’s a little unnerving how easy that looked, right?

We’ll see if the Wizards can get things turned around, but if not, Gortat’s stoic Hulk Hogan impression should suffice from an entertainment standpoint, at least.

At least, this shows that they are frustrated about the losses and wizards players still cares about winning.

Yeh, all the knuckleheads are gone and Nene/Gortat are the adults on a still young team that needs a new coach. Wall is/will be a solid PG for a long time, tho he is not going to be Chris Paul or Tony Parker. Bradley Beal is going to be a star. Dude can chuck the rock, plays intense defense even tho inexperienced and has his head on straight. He just needs time to grow. He’s only 20. I still think Otto Porter was an emotional pick at #3. We haven’t seen even a nanosecond of him, but Les Boulez need stud muscle at the 3, not slick athletes like Trevor Ariza/Otto Porter. They continuously get ruled on the boards/in the paint.

@daddyghi – Agreed. It’s been a long time since we saw Wizards players get upset about losing like Nene and Gortat, and I was 100% behind the comments Nene made the other day about players passing and putting team first like San Antonio. I’d rather have players care about losing then the Gilbert Arenas/Andre Blatche/JaVale McGee/Nick Young type players that were “me first”. As much as I’ve wanted Ernie Grunfeld gone, I have to give him credit for scrapping his old “talent before character” style to change the culture with a different type of player. Gamers like Beal. All hard workers. Good things are coming I think, but we might have to endure some pain first. I’ve been saying for years in emails to the Wizards management that we need to take a page out of San Antonio’s book by bringing in guys that care about winning, coming to work hard, and putting the team first. If we keep looking for those kind of players, eventually success will come too.

Im getting Gortat kinda regrets all the whining he did last year about not wanting to be a part of the rebuilding Suns. Let Gortat serve as a lesson to Asik : Just because your agent tells you to be disruptive to get what you want, doesnt mean you should always listen, because you might end up playing in Washington or Charlotte

    I love Trevor Ariza’s reaction.

Then he gets fined for ripping a Gatorade towel. The league protects its sponsors.
