Thursday night NBA Grades: The Thunder bench was niiiice

A few grades from the two NBA games Thursday night, or what you missed while you were watching Ron Burgundy sing Loverboy tunes

source: Oklahoma City Thunder bench. The starters staked the team a lead but the Thunder bench carried that over and got the win over the Clippers Thursday night. Jeremy Lamb had 11 points and was +9, Reggie Jackson had 9 points and was +14, Steven Adams had 6 points, 7 rebounds and was +10. Jackson is looking better and better — and more expensive for OKC to keep — every game.

source: Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers. This was a game for those that say all he can do is dunk should have watched. Griffin was human attacking the rim, just 5-of-10 inside 8 feet. But out on the left side of the court he was 5-of-6 from the midrange, showing off a more confident jumpshot that he was quick to release. He also showed off a jump hook off glass from left block. There was real variety to his game — he needs to be more consistent at it, but his offensive game is improving (check out The Extra Pass post in the morning to find out more). The other end of the court… that’s another post for another day.

source: Nate Robinson, Denver Nuggets. This was pretty much the microcosm of Nate Robinson’s game. What do we want to talk about? Those two threes at the start of the fourth quarter to spark the 13-0 run that put the game away for Denver. We want to talk about how he stuck it to his former team. In reality, he was 3-of-13 shooting to get his 11 points. It’s that inefficiency — and his defense — that drives coaches crazy. It’s why he bounces around. But he plays with passion and he makes plays — he’s hard not to watch.

Nate Robinson was good enough on the Bulls last year to get a good contract with Denver. Saying he’s “bouncing around” is inaccurate at best and lying at worst.

In the last 5 seasons(including this one) he has played on 6 teams. If that isn’t “bouncing around” I don’t know what is.

      • belleby123 - Nov 23, 2013 at 8:15 AM

It implies that he’s not good enough to stay with a team, and that’s completely wrong. He did great on the Bulls, but it wasn’t part of their plan to pay him. Now he’s got a good contract with Denver. Since that “bouncing” has slowed down to a trickle, what the frack is the point of bringing it up. It’s disrespectful to the point of being stupid.

” It’s disrespectful to the point of being stupid.”

Except for, you know, he’s spent the last 5 seasons
        “bouncing around”…

      • belleby123 - Nov 26, 2013 at 3:14 PM

No, bougin89, you’re completely right: basketball players play at the same level every year, so obviously what happened in the past automatically applies to the present. Alternately, have you considered the possibility that you’re not that bright?

      • bougin89 - Nov 26, 2013 at 4:34 PM

You’re arguing an opinion one that you only share(based on your thumbs up/down and you’re telling me I’m not bright?

        Good job, good effort.

      • belleby123 - Dec 3, 2013 at 8:01 AM

I’m glad you were able to do a poll to find out what everyone’s opinion is. You did do this, right?

      • bougin89 - Dec 3, 2013 at 10:40 AM

To state the obvious: no, PBT.com does it for us. Look at your thumbs up/thumbs down count, it should give you a good idea of what people think of your opinion.

      • belleby123 - Dec 5, 2013 at 10:58 PM

Really? You think I don’t know what the reaction is before I post? And popularity means nothing–this is referred to as the McDonald’s argument.

      • bougin89 - Dec 6, 2013 at 9:36 AM

“I’m glad you were able to do a poll to find out what everyone’s opinion is. You did do this, right?”

You asked the question. I gave the answer. Now you’re just talking in circles.

      • belleby123 - Dec 6, 2013 at 3:05 PM

        You’re an idiot.

      • bougin89 - Dec 6, 2013 at 3:26 PM

Coming from you that means nothing.

      • belleby123 - Dec 9, 2013 at 2:29 PM

        Ditto.

      • bougin89 - Dec 9, 2013 at 5:04 PM

Good riddance from you immature comments! Have a happy holiday season.

      • belleby123 - Dec 12, 2013 at 5:39 PM

        Go piss up a rope.

      • bougin89 - Dec 13, 2013 at 12:06 PM

        I remember my first beer…

Steven Adams is showing some potential to develop into a solid player.

  3. eagles512 - Nov 22, 2013 at 11:25 AM

Bouncing around is exactly what he’s done

  4. pfic15 - Nov 23, 2013 at 11:32 AM

I would trade all that for another shot to keep Harden.
