Vintage Amar’e Stoudemire “defense” video talk of New York

Nov 20, 2013, 1:25 PM EDT

It really is hard to say which is worse lately, the Knicks offense or defense.

But now that Amar’e Stoudemire is getting regular time on the court, we are getting to see some defensive gems like this one making its way around the Web Wednesday.

The offense may be the longer term issue in New York, but it is the defense that has the most spectacular of lapses.

Yep that’s definitely vintage Amare D.

You try spending three years on a team with ‘Melo and JR and see what happens to your expectations.

That’s offensive to the term D…may as well call him Amare Stou amire for the lack of D anywhere in his game

    Shaqtin-A-Fool nominee.

      Blooper of the Year.

Guy is a nightmare. This team is a joke.

Yikes… he really Harden’d that defensive possession.

  6. jobotjones - Nov 20, 2013 at 2:02 PM

This is hard to watch. How are you a forward in pro basketball with defensive “skills” like that???

  7. ryanrockzzz - Nov 20, 2013 at 2:43 PM

HA….honestly though he looks like he thought this play over for some reason, or it’s some sort of mental “flopping” that Harden should try.

    Ball-you-man: Nope.

    Box out: Nope.

    Effort: nope.

What would you say you do here, Amare?

  9. raidmagic - Nov 20, 2013 at 3:05 PM

I saw the still shots of this and thought it was either a photoshop or a video game screen grab. Too funny!!

2 black hole chuckers, one oft injured matador, one soft 7ft 3pt shooter, one defense only lane clogger and a fat point guard.

Nice work on maxing out your payroll for a bag of craptasticness.

This is sad to watch, hate to say it, but it’s time to retire Amar’e.

Defense like that just stinks of a player looking for a buyout. At a certain point it’s just better for everyone if you just a lockeroom cancer to leave.

  13. borderline1988 - Nov 20, 2013 at 7:35 PM

What’s even sadder than Amare’s effort is Bargnani’s…Bargnani is trying to defend in this play, and still does absolutely nothing
