Russell Westbrook crosses-up Hickson to put dagger in Nuggets (VIDEO)

Nov 19, 2013, 8:44 AM EST

Denver would not go away. Kevin Durant hit a three a minute before that felt like a dagger but Denver kept coming back, getting within striking distance. So Russell Westbrook put his own dagger in. With style.

Up two with less than 30 seconds left he drove, got by his man then just crossed up J.J. Hickson on his way to the lay-up that really was the dagger.

Westbrook finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists in the warriors win.

That 30 ft 3 against the Warriors last week to take the lead was ridiculous. If he’s going to do that in close games, they’ll go nowhere.

They ended up losing the game anyway.

He hit a clutch shot so that means they will go nowhere? I didn’t watch that game. Did he shoot it with too much time left on the shot clock or something?

No, it was just not a smart shot. It was with time running out but not a winning play.

Looks like Brooks who was a PG himself can’t teach him the nuances of the position.

“No, it was just not a smart shot. It was with time running out but not a winning play.”

It was literally a winning type of play until Iggy hit the game winner.
