Iman Shumpert latest to receive warning for violating league’s anti-flopping rule (VIDEO)

Nov 9, 2013, 6:30 PM EDT

It seems as though the league has been cracking down on flopping a little bit more than it did a season ago, at least through this campaign’s first couple of weeks.

A handful of players have already been issued initial warnings for violating the anti-flopping rule, and Iman Shumpert of the New York Knicks became the latest to be added to the list.

The offending play occurred in the second quarter of the Knicks’ win over the Bobcats on Friday, and despite the aggressive nature of the swinging elbow from Gerald Henderson and Shumpert’s close proximity, no contact was made, so the exaggerated response from Shumpert qualifies as a legitimate violation.

How much pride do these sorry ass refs have……the goal of the flop is to make a ref make a call that’s not there….so essentially they think the refs r dumb enough to fall for their fakes….all these refs look stupid…..y not on a flop foul like this go to the replay ….if its a flop team gets 2 tecnical fouls and ball out …..they quit it soon if that happened

I can’t imagine how these players in question could think that flopping is a respectable thing to do. How about you simply MAN UP and outplay your opponent at the game of basketball…instead of acting like a weasel soccer player. If you consider yourself a “professional” baller, than don’t act like a professional pretender.

Dollars to donuts says Dwyane Wade fell down when he saw that video.

This is simply not how the game of basketball should be played in my opinion. I love Shumpert’s skill set and swag, but players need to realize they lose a lot of fans when they do something like this.

Anti-flopping rule?!?! are you serious? YOU fools should get rid of the delay of game Technical foul if a player touches the ball after going throw the basket. That’s the dumbest rule in the league, and if Stu Jacksoon has northing to do with his time, I have some work he can do, lemme take my pants down so you can kiss it. the NBA has become a poor state of distraction when you have nothing else to do during the day. Refrees are taking the outcome of a game into their own hands, and one day soon, this stupid rule of touching the ball after it goes throw the hoop will come back to haunt them.

I strongly disagree–“the dumbest rule in the league” is a *very* hard choice.
