Scottie Pippen says there’s ‘no doubt’ that Derrick Rose will win a championship with Bulls

Scottie Pippen knows about NBA championships. He won six of them playing alongside Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls, and now serves the team as Special Advisor to the President & COO.

Pippen was in Brazil with the Bulls as part of the team’s participation in the league’s Global Games, and believes there are more championships on the horizon — specifically because Derrick Rose is firmly in place on the roster.

“That’s our belief as a team,” Pippen said, when asked if Rose could lead the team to a title during a press conference. “Derrick is a very hard working player, he ‘s very determined. He’s a serious player, and he wants to win.

“There’s no doubt in our mind that Derrick Rose will win a championship as a Chicago Bull.”

After a pause, possibly for dramatic effect, Pippen added that he may have to personally make sure his prediction comes true.

“I might have to come back and help him,” the 48-year old said with a smile.

Rose sat out of the Bulls’ preseason game in Brazil as a precautionary measure after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired left knee. Rose said later that the front office made the call, and that he could’ve played through the discomfort.

I agree Scottie, but management has got to help out by spending some $$$$$

Unless Scottie knows something we don’t know! How many great players retired without a title! Don’t go by what he say!, Mr. Pippen aka glossy eyes in Dade County court side! He may win or he may not! And not necessarily with the bulls! Ask a Cleveland fan if they thought bron was gonna win a title somewhere else other than Cleveland! Reality is a b..ch!

      Spending some money?
The Bulls have the 6th highest payroll in the NBA.
Next year they will pass the Lakers and the Mavs on that list.

Spending money is not going to win you a title.
The Knicks have been spending for years have gotten nothing.

Perhaps Scottie should take a more wait n’ see approach and downgrade his prediction to “there’s ‘no doubt’ Derek Rose will actually play in the next pre-season game”.

      D. Rose is as tough as they come. You dudes criticizing him couldn’t last 24 hours on the mean streets of Chicago.

Reading is fundamental, my friend. I never said I was from Chicago. Read Rose’s bio before leaving dumb comments.

    Please come back

Mean streets of Chicago..? ^ lmao. Oooooook

    • kb2408 - Oct 13, 2013 at 6:32 PM

Yes, the mean streets of Chicago, sir. My point is, Rose grew up on the southside of Chicago, arguably the toughest neighborhood in the United States. So, for some of these numbskulls to question his toughness is laughable. He’s plenty tough. In order to get to this point in his life he had to be tough.

What are you talking about man, Chicago’s a freaking war zone right now! Bodies drop daily out there. Men, women……BABIES! Everyone can get it out there, it’s freaking nuts! I’d rather walk the streets of Tijuana with all my jewelry on then to visit the streets of Chi for a few hours!

Go hang out on Halsted and 77th. Please. I give you five minutes, tops.

      • ramdog1975 - Oct 15, 2013 at 11:12 PM

I could name 10 other intersections worse than 77th and Halsted…..LoL

      • parasolmonster - Oct 16, 2013 at 10:14 AM

Really? Name them. Statistically H/77th is the fourth worst street corner in the entire nation. So really, give me ten more…

Mean streets of Chicago? While you were typing that three other people just got shot.

“There’s no doubt in our mind that Derrick Rose will win a championship as a Chicago Bull.”
Writer did not quote Pippen correctly……The quote actually ends with “…..Bulls coach.”

    • asimonetti88 - Oct 13, 2013 at 8:58 PM

      Chicago Bull Bulls coach?

  6. antistratfordian - Oct 13, 2013 at 6:43 PM

Heh. Could he possibly have said that in a less sincere way? Sheesh.

  7. jzone954 - Oct 13, 2013 at 7:52 PM

Not as long as Lebron and the Miami heat are getting better, adding pieces and such.
The bulls need different components to beat Miami in the playoffs.

I once thought the same thing about Grant Hill when he was with the Pistons, Patrick Ewing when he was with the Knicks, and Reggie Miller with the Pacers.
