Harden, Howard say Durant/Wade twitter feud legit (and Harden is Top 10)

Sep 26, 2013, 6:58 PM EDT

The other day Kevin Durant said James Harden belonged on the list of the Top 10 players in the NBA, not the aging Dwyane Wade. Which meant Wade responded to him and soon we had a little twitter war going.

Was it real or did this spring from the imagination of a Gatorade marketing executive (remember they were in a Gatorade commercial together last year).

But in their pre-camp interviews with CSNHouston.com, both Dwight Howard and James Harden said the feud was legit — and yes Harden said yes, he is a Top 10 player.

By the way, Wade also said the feud was legit.

It’s not a joke, it’s part of an advertising campaign.

Sure, Harden is a top 10 player. He should’ve replaced 1 achilles Kobe in the top 10, not Wade. Kobe is not going to be the same player when he comes back – not sure why anyone would have him in the top 10.

      Totally agree.

If Rose is out of the top 10 for his injury, one he’ll likely come back strong from, then an aging, already slowing Kobe with arguably the worst injury a basketball player can get belongs nowhere near it.

I just don’t get it, Wade is no longer the player he once was in fact it’s hard to see him hit more than 20 ppg this season, as long as Harden puts just a little effort on defense this is a no brainer…

Wade averaged 21/5/5 last year shooting 52% from the field. His fifth consecutive year averaging 20/5/5. Until he injured his knee in March he was playing at a MVP level.

Where is the evidence that he is no longer the player he used to be? Big difference between injury and loss of skill. Wade was injured, he hasnt lost anything. With him dropping some weight this offseason he should be even better. Hopefully Grover helped up tighten up that jumper, that is the only weakness in his game.

        > Big difference between injury and loss of skill.

Say what? An aging player that becomes injury prone is no more useful than one with diminished skills. In Wade’s case, of course, you never know how hurt he is because he’s flopping on the floor in pain one minute and driving to the hoop like a youngster the next. Because of this I find it impossible to say how productive he will be for how long.

wade is still a good player despite getting older. not a lock down defender. his biggest weakness is inability to shoot the 3.

    • money2long - Sep 26, 2013 at 9:55 PM

wade is better than harden. guys are riding this harden wave so hard.

      we will see!!

Top ten offense then Harden for sure but its not. Harden defense is no where close to Wade’s.

    • gmsingh - Sep 27, 2013 at 8:17 AM

Are you referring to flopping ability?

    • 5xchamp24 - Sep 27, 2013 at 6:45 PM

wade does not lock anybody down. he just gets a lot of steals

  6. titansbro - Sep 27, 2013 at 7:32 AM

Wade sucks & he’s a petulant baby on top of it.

  7. panchopolarbear - Sep 27, 2013 at 10:48 PM

Really wade isn’t a lockdown defender? Who gets the best of him when he’s defending them? No one.
